We chose this property because we wanted to be close to the base and restaurants. We also wanted a kitchen for use at breakfast. We knew from other reviews that the accommodations would not be fancy but that didn't bother us. It was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Thank you Kevin for helping us get to the supermarket. He provided us with bus arrival/departure times, directions to the closest bus stop, a supermarket discount card, and cloth bags to carry our groceries. Excellent customer service. We enjoyed having easy access to shopping and dining without the use of a vehicle. We had a great vacation and left feeling that we'd picked the right place to stay. We will definitely return to Lifthouse in the future.

The staff were outstanding...location cannot be beat...very comfortable and homey and quiet. Perfect for family or singles. Housekeeping everyday..well equipped if you choose to cook in some meals. Kudos to staff: Kevin, Whitey, Roland, Mary and especially Packy. They could not have been nicer or more helpful. Would definitely recommend staying here...

People say there is no place like home. Well the Lifthouse gives you that exact feeling. The rooms are have all you need. Full kitchen. Have coffee in the morning. Come back after skiing for a snack before a night on the town. The staff and housekeeping could not be better. Don't miss staying at the Lifthouse when visiting Vail.

Location and value is the key to the Lifthouse. You are literally right in the middle of Lionshead with a short 100 yard walk to the gondola. The staff is quiet friendly and makes a point of getting to know every guest by name. The rooms are very quite and low key.

Like other reviews have indicated, the rooms are old and nothing fancy and could use some updating. However, if you don't need anything fancy at an affordable price and just want to ski without having to walk or take buses, then Lifthouse is the place.

Room Tip: Upper rooms have a good view but are hot and dry.

I just stayed in the Lifthouse for the 1st time since 1996. Sadly nothing from 1996 has changed. The location is awesome. Nobody can argue that. But when you charge $299 a night and you are full most nights, you would think some money would go back into the rooms. The Lifthouse can say they have the only original 1980's pink toilets in all of Vail. If you are 18-22 single men looking for a great location to Lionshead Gondola this place is for you. If you want something better than a Days Inn in Vail this place is not for you. I should have spent a few dollars more and stayed somewhere else.

We agree, you are not going to find any place closer to Vail Resort lifts for the price. Our staff is dedicated to making each guest's experience the very best. We apologize if we fell short of that goal. Please know that we continuously work to make our rooms nice and comfortable and have recently added all new carpets, dining room furniture, new sofas and have freshly painted all the interiors. We also offer on-site parking, as well as many amenities and comforts of home. Not sure how to respond to the "pink toilet" comment as there are no pink toilets here. We invite potential guests to view our 2012 virtual tours and photo gallery to see why we have become a Vail favorite for many repeat guests.

I wanted to just run up to the Vail area with my daughter for a quick getaway and in the end The Lifthouse just isn't worth saving $50. There are much better places everywhere in Vail or Lionshead. Spend the extra money and enjoy a nice place if you are going all the way to the Vail area. Pull out bed was absolutely horrible, the pullout sofa bed is the only bed near a TV, water pressure is really low in the shower, entire place was dark - The Lifthouse needs a lot more lighting, staff didn't communicate a late checkout so I get a stupid checkout was at 11!!!!!!! letter on my door, I forgot to put the envelope that was written out to be a parking pass on my windshield for a couple hours (getting my epileptic daughter settled in) and even though the clerk looked right at my car and said that I would have to move it when I was checking in and writing down my license number on the parking info page wasn't necessary I got a "NEVER PARK HERE AGAIN" banner letter on my window. Letter says something about $250 and taking my car to Minturn, CO next time and now they have recorded my license plate number. Oh yeah and the idiot at the desk in the morning charged me $5 cash to checkout late and for parking. Wouldn't take a credit card because "It costs more to run $5 on a card" I didn't ask questions because me being angry isn't worth $5. I wouldn't even consider this place again with all the deals in the summer in Vail. Go to the Mountain Haus in the middle of Vail Village on the river and spend $50 more
