“This is the perfect location for the last week of skiing.”
Reviewed April 30, 2010

We were looking for last-minute accommodations when we found a place that welcomed our dog, was very close to the base of the slopes, and offered a late season discount. The Antlers has a boutique hotel feel about it -- friendly staff and every imaginable amenity in the lobby -- including a great variety of newspapers. The layout of our unit was great and so well constructed that no noise filtered between the rooms. Great view. A non-skier in our party was happy because she could explore the village easily or comfortably watch television inside. Equipment lockers and boot dryers were helpful. Finding a pet friendly place convenient to the slopes allowed us to come in for lunch and to walk the dog. Only suggestion: the dining chairs were too low for the table. Children would need pillows to reach their food.

I just returned from a week long stay at Antlers with my husband and our nine year old son. We had a lovely time. We had a one bedroom condo with bunks facing the slopes and the creek. Prime real estate at a quite reasonable price. (Do note that the Ritz Carlton Residences are going up next door. God knows what they will charge there for that view. More amenities, obviously, but still.) Antlers is situated even closer to the gondola than that new construction, a very short walk. In the past, we have stayed at the Lodge and also at the Sonnenalp in Vail Village. This was not nearly as luxurious, however we were actually a lot more comfortable having our own kitchen, being able to do our own laundry, and also having more space than we can afford at either of those other two hotels. What also added to our comfort level was the fact that the people at the front desk were so friendly and helpful. We were made to feel very much at home. I can easily understand why they have so many guests who come back every year. (My son particularly loved the fact that they give you free popcorn with DVD rentals and that one of the women who worked there had actually seen all of the Harry Potter movies.)
There are some minor idiosyncracies that one has to get used to. All of the corridors are outside, so you have to put on a sweater or jacket to go to the front desk or to the guest laundry. They also do not give you bathrobes, so you have to bring something warm to put on over your bathing suit if you go to the pool and the hot tubs. There is only one shower in the pool area which tends to be very much in demand, particularly if there are people there with young children (understandably, of course). So you may have to race back upstairs to take a hot shower. Having said that, sitting in one of the hot tubs looking out over the slopes or the creek was spectacular, much better views than either the Sonnenalp or the Lodge have to offer.)
We also found that the other guests at the hotel were very friendly and down to earth. Liked that.
A few other minor complaints are that the bed was a bit too soft, and that there was not a huge amount of closet space. None of the downsides ended up bothering us too much, though. It was really all just very cosy and convenient and we had a great time.

booked a one bedroom through ski.com with a particular request for a FIRM MATTRESS. afterall, when you come down off the mountain after a full day of snowboarding, you want to sleep in a comfy bed. we were initially shown an inferior setup with the bed 2 inches from the wall on each side. a late nite walk to the bathroom would have been a disaster. and the bed was a disaster too. the concierge, rob gray, changed us to a magnificent lodging accommodation that was perfect ! tip: try to stay on the first floor, so you don't have to carry your luggage and boards up many flights of stairs--also makes departing with shuttle service easier too.
and don't be afraid to have a special request that needs to be honored upon check-in.
the location can't be beat for convenience to the slopes!!!

The entire trip was wonderful. The great service at Antlers started when I called on the drive from the airport to see if we could check in early. When we arrived, we discovered that the front desk staff had arranged to have our condo cleaned first because they knew we were arriving early and we were able to get right in - before noon. The condo was nice and quiet with a great view of the slopes. The staff was friendly (we were even offered extra event related lift passes the first day - free!) and helpful. The pool and hot tub were great with outstanding views. Our room was very well tended by the housekeeping staff and everyone was friendly. The condos are nicely located too --- just a 2 minute walk to the base of the gondola and all the shopping and restaurants in Lionshead. It was a perfect vacation and we will definitely return to The Antlers. Soon I hope!

Stayed here for 4 nights midweek with my husband and son who was on spring break from grad school. The two of them did an all day snow cat ski trip with ski cooper all day monday then headed to vail checking in to the Antlers on monday. I joined them tuesday. We stayed in 418, a two bedroom condo in the north part of the building. The unit was comfortable and well appointed including a very roomy kitchen/living/dining area with lots of windows opening to a large deck. The view was of the Marriott pool area but since it faces south, offers lots of light. The twice weekly yoga classes offered at 4:30 on tuesdays and thursdays were a great way to get "stretched" after skiing and the instructor Tracy is excellent. The Antlers provided mats, towels, water and yoga props and the class is offered in a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere. I followed the class with a soak in the outdoor jacuzzi with a view of Gore Creek. Be sure to bring sweats or similar as there are no robes in the condos. There is a heated changing room adjacent to the pool/spas with plenty of towels and a shower. The Antlers also provides large plastic drinking cups in case you want to drink out by the pool. The ski lockers are great and the automatic doors especially convenient when you are schlepping your skis. A short stroll takes you to the path to the right of the Arrabelle entrance and directly to the base of the Gondola. At the end of the day you can almost ski to the end of the path depending upon the snow.
During our stay we had take out from the Blue Moose and also ate in there once. The food is very good, reasonably priced and the service super friendly(they also appear to be very "kid friendly")and we also had a rather pricey dinner at the Tavern in the Arrabelle.

We stayed there during President’s week in one of their one bedroom units plus bunk beds (4 people). The location is good, close to the gondola, which is why we chose to stay there. The staff was exceptionally helpful but we were shocked at how small the “bedroom” was. There was literally one foot on either side of a queen size bed before hitting the walls -- barely enough room for an adult to squeeze through. We had to push the bed over against the wall just so we didn’t feel so claustrophobic. There were no closets other than one in the main room and no place to store luggage for 4 people so they had to sit out in the living/dining room area. Also, we were disappointed to find that the unit had such a small hot water tank that two people couldn’t take showers in succession without the second person running out of hot water. When we asked the management, they suggested we wait 45 minutes between showers – a suggestion that was completely impractical. Given that we paid about $5000 for 7 nights, we expected more. For those rates, we'll try someplace else the next time.

This was the most comfortable stay I have ever had! The condo I stayed in was beautiful and cozy with views to die for. Looking over the pool and the creek and out to the runs up the other side of the mountains! The staff was warm and caring, I traveled alone and with my dog, They all gave me suggestions for places to go and see, and was eager to help with anything I needed. I can't give them enough stars!
