Located near Lionshead and the Village, with transportation provided in the city. Plenty of walking, hiking and biking trails and lots of shopping opportunities. There are numerous places to eat, withing waling distance of the Antlers. The staff is courteous and always able to answer your questions. The condos are well maintained and clean.

We live in Denver and try to get up to the mountain about once a month just to get out of town. Our most recent stay was in Vail at the Antlers hotel. We had a condo reserved and it was right on the river. Nicely done kitchen, decent size unit. Views were great from the room. Probably the highlight. We used their hot-tubs both nights which were on a nice deck over looking the river. Only complaint, they had one internet connection in room, no Wifi and we had two computers. But Maintenance guy brought us a wireless router for our stay. Easy walk to get to the restaurants, etc. When we were there it was super quiet, since it is their "dead" time of the year. Many shops and restaurants closed up until June or so but we still found some nice places to eat out. When we come back to Vail during busier times, I'm sure we'd want to stay here. Very quick to everything.

We stayed in unit 605 and really enjoyed our stay. Everything was perfect : the view, location, staff, facilities. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. We loved everything about it. The coffee and tea was excellent. Free parking in the garage below was a perk. The room was beautifully furnished. The kitchen was fully stocked and beds were really comfortable. Supermarket was close. Right next to shops, restaurants, and skiing gondola. Can't wait to go back.

This was our 2nd stay at the Antlers. The snow wasn't as good as last year, but can't blame them for that. We stayed in a studio condo that overlooked the ski mountain and pool. It's a great location. The condo was nicely decorated and impeccably clean. The coffee maker was kaput, so I called the front desk and a new one was produced almost before I sat down. Nice. This year we attended their weekly wine and cheese reception and met some other guests and some staff. Everybody was nice and friendly. Some other guests at the reception were staying in one of the four bedroom condos in the newer part of the hotel and invited us up for a tour. Wow. It was considerably more posh than our unit, but I liked our location and view better. No doubt about it, Vail is pricey, but you get what you pay for and I think the Antlers is a good value. We ate out less this time and cooked more, which helped save $. The kitchen was fully equipped, but lacked a waffle maker. Damn, I like waffles. The view from their pool must be the best in all of Vail. Wow.

We were underwhelmed by Antlers. For a rate of almost $300 a night... it was not impressive. We stayed in a studio condo. The decor was straight out of the 80's, complete with old fashioned box TV. The hot tub and pool were nice, but we only used it a couple of times... for the simple reason that it was inconvenient. Antlers does not provide any bathrobes, instead they expect you to come down to the pool area, fully clothed and change into your bathing suit in a heated hut. When you want to get out of the hot tub , you have the choice of either running back up to your room in your wet suit or waiting for others to change in the hut until your turn arrives and you can retrieve your clothes and change back. To be fair to Antlers, we did run into another couple who told us that their condo had recently been rehabbed and was very modern. We did like the fact that we had a full kitchen, stocked full of all of the untensils and pots and pans we needed and a nice gas grill on the balcony. We enjoyed grilling after a long day of skiing. It seems as if this property is run by 20-somethings....which explains the immaturity when you call the front desk to ask for something as simple as shaving cream and the response you get is ?huh? uh? what? .... oh well. Luckily we were only there to eat and sleep and had a great week of skiing.

  • Liked — Full kitchen, gas grill on balcony, close to ski hill
  • Disliked — Decor of condo, unprofessionaly staff, too expensive for what you get

Our experience was mixed, unfortunately. We went to visit friends who were staying in one of the large units. Their apartment was beautifully decorated, with high-quality furnishings. They reported that all beds were perfectly comfortable.

We rented a studio, which was indeed plenty large. Absolutely no complaints about bathroom or kitchen area. Couch in living room was OK. The rest of the furniture was far below standard though. Table, dining chairs, end table, and bed all looked and felt as if they would fall apart any moment. And in fact, one of the dining chairs did fall apart when I sat on it. This was obviously cheap furniture that was well past its lifetime. (dining set probably retailed for $200 new). Much of this furniture was an accident waiting to happen.

My understanding is that each unit is wholly owned by someone, who then allows it to be put on the rental market. Our unit was obviously owned by someone too cheap to have anything of a decent standard in the room (what a contrast to the room our family stayed in!).

In fairness, I reported my furniture concerns to the front desk when we checked out (we were only there 1 night). The manager immediately came out, apologized, said he would put a credit on our bill, and said he would have maintenance fix the chairs. We were still loading the car when we saw 2 maintenance staff enter the room (that impressed me).

Other positives: great views, friendly staff. Very close to gondola. Quiet.

We would absolutely return, but would question the staff more carefully about what type of residence we would receive.
