“Great Location”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

I recently stayed at the Antlers with friends for a vacation in Vail. Myself and two friends stayed in a three bedroom, two bath condo (number 708) and our other two friends stayed in a one bedroom, one bath condo (number 608). The location is great, just a short 3-5 minute walk to the base of the Lionshead gondola area. Number 708 is quite recently updated and is a top floor unit with two stories and a lofted ceiling in the main room looking up at the mountain and overlooking Gore creek as well as the pool and hot tub area. It is a fairly small foot print, but the 5 of us were able to gather for meals and socializing comfortably. There is no A/C so it is a bit warm in the mid-day, but with the balcony door open and kitchen window open, there is a nice cross-draft that keeps things comfortable. The kitchen is updated and has all the supplies needed for cooking (you provide all food stuffs including spices/salt/pepper). 708 is also the end unit closest to the elevator and stairs, but I did not find it noisy with passing by foot traffic. The bed in the master BR is very comfortable. There is a gas BBQ grill on the balcony which is convenient and a great view for your BBQ!
I visited downstairs (608), which has not yet been updated in the main room and bedroom, but the kitchen has been updated. It is a bit on the small side and not as bright at upstairs as it does not have lofted ceiling. The couple said the room was comfortable but small.
The pool area and hot tubs are very nice and were not too crowded. Even though some guests had small kids, from the condo it was not too loud.
The front desk staff were very friendly and strove to be helpful. My friends' condo downstairs had not been completely prepared for their arrival. When it was noticed the bed hadn't been made up, they called the desk and the situation was immediately remedied, and the front desk very thoughtfully expressed their apologies with a hand written note and bottle of wine.
The Antlers is also dog friendly and provided food and water dishes. The bike/walking path is right outside downstairs along the creek and is perfect for dog walking.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this property, particularly condo 708 if you have a group requiring 3BR.

Excellent property with a spectacular view of Vail Mountain and Gore Creek. Close to dining and shopping in Lionshead. Great walking and biking trail. Trail access to Vail Village. Free bus service to most on the the Vail Valley which allows access to all shopping, dining and special events. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. Most units have completely updated kitchens (with granite counters) including dishwashers. The pool and hot tub are clean and safe for adults and children. The housekeepping staff does a great job of cleaning room daily, timely and efficiently and accomodate special requests.

Room Tip: Mountain View

We recently spent 2 1/2 weeks in the Antlers to spend time with grandchildren who live in nearby Eagle-Vail. This was our third time to stay at the Antlers - great service brings us back! The staff is always very personal - checking to see if we need anything. Our granddaughter loves the warm apple cider that is provided in the lobby (many trips to the lobby). The location of the Antlers is great for short activities in Lionshead and Vail - free bus to shopping and activities.

Room Tip: Get a room overlooking the river (or stream, not sure). It has beautiful views of mountains as well...

Went up for a weekend getaway, no sking. Check in was quick and easy, free parking, if we had brought skis they had ski lockers available. Condos were clean and stocked with everythng you needed. Lots of towels in the unit. Your condos style and amenities may vary by the owner. We had a riverside/mountain view. The location is great right on the main trail on the river. A few hundred yards from Lionshead Gondola, we sat out at one of the patios and had a drink and watched the skiers come in for the evening. Pool and hot tub were great, lots of towels even late at night. the staff recomended Billy's for dinner and by far the best dinner and service we have had in a mountain town. Would stay again, the location was great with lionshead village and the bus available to go into vail.

Room Tip: Riverside rooms offer great views

The Antlers property is a collection of various size condos squarely set about 150 yards from the Lionshead Gondola and Born Free Express lifts in Vail. The parking is free and easy and the ski storage area perfectly located. We stayed for four nights and had a totally hassle free experience.

The good:
Excellent location
Parking easy
Great outdoor pool, hottubs (2) and warming hut with bathrooms, shower and towels.
Workout room is small but well stocked and NEVER busy
Also the workout room has towels and showers
Olympic weights (uncommon for this type of property)
Large DVD movie rental collection at desk - sometimes they charge the four bucks, sometimes they don't

The "surprised" - not bad, just unexpected?
No real common room with a fireplace. There is a sitting area near the check in desk with some newspapers, coffee, etc., but in such a large property, one would expect a "lodge like" common area for Apres ski.
Very few, poorly located, vending for late night snacks

The staff was great. Rooms were always clean and picked up, kitchens are spacious and have good amenities. When we arrived, our reservation (to start April 1) was somehow not in the computer until the next day, but no problem, they had a condo available and it was a three bedroom (not a two that I had reserved) which we were set up in instantly without any hassle or increase in fee.

For checkout, we had a red eye flight and needed to move stuff out of the unit by noon, but we were allowed to keep luggage on property all day AND continue to use parking and then shower and change late afternoon in the fitness area without any problem.

Well priced, highly recommended

Room Tip: Ask for a higher floor

It's not that easy to find a "normal" place to stay in this touristy town. Antlers has a great staff, beautiful condos, and great pool, a fantastic location, and everyone there seems super down to earth, instead of hoity-toity. I have stayed here a couple times, and will continue to come back.

Room Tip: The 1 bedroom with the 2 bunk beds is a great value. That room could sleep 5 comfortably, or 7 tight...

Ours was the perfect experience. My husband and I celebrated our 35th anniversary at Antlers at Vail last month. We had honeymooned in Colorado and thought Vail deserved a re-ski. Everything, everything at Antlers met or superseded our expectations! Friendly staff, clean, well-equipped condos and location close to everything or an easy shuttle away. Loved Vail, loved Antlers at Vail and recommending it highly! Thanks, Antlers!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the gondola, maybe even overlooking the stream. Also, ensure that you...
