We just went to Lancelot for the first time in awhile. We had eaten here on each of three of trips to Vail in the last 20 years.
It hasn't missed a beat, although it somehow seemed a bit less intimate than we remembered. The nicely lit dining room was comfortable, and though I wouldn't recommend it for an intimate dinner, it was wonderful for our party of 7. One DS had the brie appetizer, which he said was worthy of being street food in Prague - high praise for this college junior. Three in the party had the Lancelot steak special (porterhouse, I think) of varying degrees of doneness, and all liked it very much. DD had filey mignon and really liked it. DS#2, an aspiring chef, had the veal and nearly swooned.
Also worthy of mention was the streudel dessert, a house specialty, which did not disappoint.
We must add that the service was terrific, always there when we wanted it but not when we didn't. We will keep Lancelot on our list.
Finally, we didn't take advantage of a special that allowed diners a free entree with a bottle of wine for being early birds before 6:15 pm, but I wished we would have done that as the place is not exactly cheap.
