Food ok, but hardly low priced relative to others, as suggested by other reviewers. Entrees 30 to 38 for dinner. Great apple struedel--only real highlight here. Upper floor has charming atmosphere.

The food was below average German cuisine (I lived in Germany a total of 14 years) and very over priced. Would not recommend this restaurant under any circumstances...much better alternatives.

Bonnie and the staff at Alpenrose always make you feel at home and Gunter's kitchen makes fabulous and tasty mains as well as great pastries. Morgan pours generously making this a favorite for after ski relaxation in Winter and the best deck in summer...lots of afternoon sun. Dog friendly which is a plus!

Excellent food with excellent service. Great variety of entrees and desserts. Come for a meal or a Paulaner après ski. Good for children, too.

While looking for a place to have lunch in Vail, we stopped at the Alpenrose as the menu looked interesting. Pam suggested the "Special", which turned out be be outstanding. The Brat was excellent, but it was the homemade Sauerkraut that was one of the best I ever had. The beer and the patio (even in October!) was great. Pam, our server, was friendly and terrific. My wife, who is not a beer drinker, wanted to try a beer with her meal, but was not sure which one to pick. Pam brought her a couple of "tasters" to try, which she thought was great and helped her make the choice.
