The Alpenrose has the look and feel of a small Swiss restaurant. We had our Thanksgiving dinner at the Alpenrose this past year and it was very, very good. The family opted for the traditional turkey, while I steered towards a fine offering of veal. The wine list is decent, and they have a great selection of German beers on tap. It would appear to be a great place to enjoy a stein in the summer out on the patio.

I am a german food snob and I loved this place. My meal was good, but really how hard is it to make Weisswurst, however, all the sides were fantastic. The potatoe, cabbage, and cucumber salads were great. The server was very good.

We've eaten there for the Thanksgiving dinner. They had a menu for 35$, we hadn't book before. We were pretty happy to find that on Thanksgiving. The portions and the price were really reasonable. I wouldn't say that the food was exceptional but it was good. The menu was exactly what we were expecting (not too much to eat, just the right quantity). The service was nice.

What a nice experience this was. Beautifully prepared food in an outside setting - great for people-watching. The service is courteous and very attentive. I wanted for nothing. Some Vail restaurants are a bit "uppity" to lone diners. Not so with Alpenrose. My salad was delicious and ingredients were very fresh. Fresh fruit tart topped it all off. Looking forward to dining there again.
