Stayed Aug. 25-29. Service was some of the best we've ever received as the staff was always friendly and inquiring on our status. Plaza rooms gave great views of Vail Village as well as the mountain. The Sebastian is minimal walking distance from everything Vail and would be highly recommended for any looking to get a lot for a little extra.

The Sebastian is a delightful hotel. All staff are friendly, courteous, and helpful. The location is fantastic!

Mrs. Obama stayed at hotel in March 2011; a thank you letter on White House stationary signed by her is displayed prominently at check-in.

We booked the room well in advance and prepaid which provided us a nice discount.

The lobby is beautifully designed and has many comfortable seating areas with gorgeous coffee table books. We leafed through many books as we had to wait 4 hours to get into our room (we got to the hotel early/before check-in). Their policy seems to be strict so expect to check in after 4pm.

We stayed in a room with a king bed on the fourth floor, which had two windows. One window looked out to the building next door with a small sliver view of the mountain and the other window had a view of the highway and mountain behind. We were told that the only rooms with mountain views were the residences. The room was large with a comfortable bed and nice bathroom. We never heard any noise from our neighbors or in the hallways. The room has a small refrigerator with complimentary water and coke. There's an espresso and coffee maker in the room and the room has free WiFi. The room does not have On Demand TV, but the hotel has a DVD machine where you can get movies. Free papers (NY Times, WSJ, USA Today) are at the MarketPlace and registration. My only negative comments on the room are that the closet doors did not open well, the handles on the sink dripped water onto the counter and there were no hooks to hang your towels to dry. One day our room was not made up. We called housekeeping and they were deeply apologetic and willing to come make up the room. This was the day before a big pro bicycle race, so perhaps they were busy with guests checking in etc. Not a huge deal since we keep a clean room, but still worth noting as a negative. We used the pool and spa areas often which were lovely. The outdoor fireplace/pit is delightful and we sat outside many mornings and some evenings. The staff are happy to light it for you if it is not already on. There are four outdoor hot tubs, so you shouldn't have any trouble finding one for you. The pool is small, but we never ran into people using it much.

The food at Market Place was delicious and we highly recommend the burger. The service is a little slow, but quite friendly. It was nice to be able to walk in Vail Village and enjoy the many good restaurants. Dinner at Campo De Fiori was delicious. We highly recommend this restaurant and sit outside. We also had dinner at Sushi Oka, which was average.

We hiked the Berry Picker trail on Vail mountain, took the Gondola, and hiked some of the trails in East Vail. We drove to Aspen one day through Independence Pass, which was gorgeous.

Remember that Vail is 8150 feet above sea level so be sure to give yourself time to adjust to the altitude. The hotel spa has oxygen available, if needed.

Room Tip: book in advance and ask for a room on a high floor

Thank you for your review; we are glad you enjoyed your stay at The Sebastian- Vail. To ensure we do not provide a room that is not up to our standard; would you be so kind as to call me with the room number you stayed in. We do not show any reported issues issues with a closet door or faucets and certainly these need to be addressed before we let this room again. Additionally I would like to apologize for your room not being cleaned, that is not acceptable. Thank you again and we look forward to hosting you again soon.

We stayed at the Sebastian for a wedding of some close friends. We got the wedding rate and decided we probably wouldn't have been happy paying the full rate. It was a wonderful hotel, but not at $300/night. The staff was amazing. My husband forgot cufflinks and they had some for him to borrow. We also needed a place to change as the wedding was in the afternoon and our room wasn't ready. They let us use the spa to get ready.

The food was also wonderful. In the morning we walked towards the mountain to their Beignet cafe. That was probably the highlight of our stay (other than our friends' wedding, of course). It is well worth the walk!

Went up to Vail for a weekend getaway from Denver. We had been up in Vail before but this was our first time at The Sebastian. We were concerned at first because we reserved one of the smaller rooms that actually came with a message/warning "for those who prefer function over form." The room ended up being great for us and I can only imagine that other rooms would be even better.

The staff was wonderful. They were able to accommodate an early check-in for us on Friday and we were checked in and up in our room only a couple minutes after pulling off I-70. The location is perfect for walking around Vail Village and also great if you need to get your car and head out to the highway. It was a warm weekend and I appreciated the little things like being handed a bottle of drinking water every time I stopped by the front desk and having them replenished regularly in the room. I thought there was a great balance of attentiveness without being intrusive. We did not eat at the hotel but did order drinks out at the pool. The service outside was slow but that was the closest thing we had to a complaint for the weekend and will certainly be back.

Perfect location a few steps from Vail Village. Newer hotel. Quite upscale. Friendly staff. Service impeccable. Room was great, reasonably spacious, clean and continually cleaned and checked during the day. Free water and soda. Would highly recommend. Best summer bargain if you get a package of nights. valet parking only close to new four seasons but a better location

Room Tip: Ask for the less expensive Classic room

Although the rooms are a little on the small side the amenities are awesome. The pool is small but perfect for the hotel and the fire pit is beautiful. The hotel itself is a wonderful botique hotel located in a perfect part of Vail surronded by cafes bars and great resturants. However what I will always remember about this hotel is how nice the staff is. I was only here for 2 nights and everyone knows your name and treats you extremely special. The breakfast is great too. The only compliant I have besides the smaller rooms how slow the servers are at the bars and resturants inside the hotel. It may be because I am from the east coast but I had to wait 10minutes for a server to greet me at breakfast. Otherwise the hotel was excellent and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing experience.

From the moment we pulled into The Sebastian-Vail, we were treated like VIP guests. The valet, bell service, front desk staff, concierge...everyone we encountered were courteous and went above and beyond to make sure that every little detail was taken care of. We got a great rate on Travelocity, and yet we were treated as though we had paid $500 a night. The dinner recommendations from Iva at the front desk were perfect--amazing dinners, and great suggestions. They even printed our boarding passes for Delta. The hotel is located right in the heart of Vail Village, within walking distance to everything. We could not have had a better experience and highly recommend The Sebastian-Vail.

Room Tip: We used Travelocity and got a great rate
