We spent 3 nights at this beautifully appointed hotel in Vail Village. Knotty Alder wood abounds with contemporary art and furniture. We felt like we were staying in a beautiful modern ski lodge. The staff were extremely polite and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were tastefully decorated and beds very comfortable. We ate at Block 16 and lucked out with John Anthony winery doing a pairing with a tasting menu. The meal was absolutely amazing! The hotel is walking distance to everything in Vail Village. I can highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Don't get a room overlooking the highway

We arrived at the Sebastian for a quiet, romantic summer weekend in Vail only to discover they had put us in a room on the back side of the hotel with a view of Interstate 70. In fact, our balcony was about 100 yards from the shoulder of the freeway, and the frontage road was under our balcony. So not only was our view horrible (no mountains, just the freeway), but we got to listen to trucks rumbling by all night. When we saw the room we immediately called to request a room change but were told that most of the rooms facing the mountains are private residences, and the remaining rooms were being held for a large convention coming in on Sunday. So, they refused to move us, even though we promised to check out early on Sunday morning. The room itself was fine but nothing special, and the common areas in the hotel were nice enough, though the pool is ridiculously small even for a mountain hotel. If you decide to give it a try, be sure to confirm a room on the mountain side! Or try one of the many other high-end hotels in Vail that are not on the freeway.

Room Tip: Demand a room on the mountain side!

We are sorry that you found your room to be unacceptable and hope that you will give us another try. If you can help me understand with whom you spoke to at our front desk that would be helpful. A refusal is not the right answer on our end and we apologize.

Please let us know what we can do to make you a fan of The Sebastian – Vail. We strive very hard to ensure our guests have an exceptional stay as you can see by our most recent reviews. Again please accept our apology.

Wow – what a great stay! From the moment we walking into the doors till our departure, our stay was top notch. The personable, genuine friendliness of all staff was amazing: they really cared to make our stay the best ever and they succeeded.

It’s always the little things that make all the difference. From the unexpected “it’s hot out there: would you like a bottle of water?” to the bellman loading our bikes onto our car rack without asking and allowing for a late checkout to accommodate our travel schedule!

Besides the staff, a property is beautiful. It was renovated and reopened under new management last year, and with all the right details. We thoroughly enjoyed to the high-end Spa amenities in the room, the easy in-house DVD rental and fantastic pool area. Location is quiet and still steps away from all the fun that Vail Village has to offer.
Tip: make sure to stop by their Base Camp location for fresh donut holes!

My family and I stayed at The Sebastian for a business meeting. We will be back for pleasure! A beautiful new property with all of the 'bells and whistles.' This is coming from someone that is in the hospitality industry. The staff is truely amazing! Very welcoming to our children as well as our dog! They chatted us up with every encounter and remembered names. The pool area is a treat, being in the 'center' of town, but a view of the mountains. We can't wait to go back!
