“7/23 Lunch”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 23, 2013

After having read on line reviews, we felt we should sing by for a late lunch. As others have mentioned, this is a tiny place with seats at the serving counter only. Despite the size, the menu was quite diverse. Was totally turned off by all of the rules, no outside beverages, no subs, no asking the cook for anything. I understand that these types of requests/actions could be bothersome BUT you are in business to serve your patrons, don't forget that? Woman behind the counter was very pleasant and attentive, just lose all of the rules and all would be well.

The good- diverse menu, food quality, service, speed of food delivery, kitschy setting.

The bad- too many rules and what's with all of the security cameras? I felt like I was visiting the Mint, way over the top. Cook not very interested in customers which given the cramped space is a problem.

In summary- I don't get the raving accolades on here, sure it fine but certainly not overt the top compared to many other places in Vail.

“A little diner with a big menu.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 13, 2013 via mobile

The Little Diner in Vail has only 24 seats at a counter. There is usually a wait but not to be missed. I ordered corned beef hash and eggs. Great hash. I also ordered a single blueberry pancake as I saw them on the grill. I also couldn't resist ordering the grits - they were buttery and sweet. My partner ordered French toast. A generous portion with a nice crispy side of bacon provided for a nice breakfast. And to top it all off - great coffee too!

“You can't beat it”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 12, 2013

What else can I say but that I went back 3 days in a row. Each meal was excellent. We had 4 different omelets, a burger, a blt and eggs benedict. Each was just about perfect. And the corned beef hash, home made of course, was really really good. Small place, with counter seating only and it can get quite busy, but just deal with it. You won't be disappointed in the Little Diner.
