“Pool Tables”
Reviewed March 17, 2012

The George is a great place to go if you want a bit of craziness. They have 2 pool tables and I think Buckhunter, as well as a bunch of comfy chez lounges for people to sprawl out on. Very festive but underground so pretty dark inside.

“Great spot for low-key apres”
Reviewed March 7, 2012

Nice change of pace from the other Vail bars. Relaxing, cheap beer, good bar food, pool tables. Great spot to meet up with friends where you're almost always guaranteed a place to sit.

“Excellent happy hour and apres' mountain fun!”
Reviewed February 21, 2012

A local friend turned us on to this well hidden gem at the front of Vail Village. I was extremely pleased to see the "Please bring your skis/board inside"....a good sign for a welcoming place! The bar was filled mostly with folks just off the mountain and was busy both times we went. It is very lively with a comfortable atmosphere. But can we talk about the happy hour??? Everything behind the bar and entrees half off plus $20 steak & crab until quite late (9pm?). The steak/crab special was good enough for my husband to return twice during our week vacation (he recommends upgrading to the Filet for $5)! I had the nachos one night (a mountain of chips and cheese and vegetables) and the grilled cheese tomato soup on the other. Maybe I'd worked up an appetite on the hill, but I thought it was pretty good for bar food. All in all a perfect place for apres festivities. And if you really want a treat, ask for a Tidal Wave shot at the bar!!

“Hard to beat this place!”
Reviewed February 21, 2012

It's amazing when you find a place that consistantly beats its higher priced competition. The George does. We have been there many times and have yet to have anything but a great experience. It's comfortable. There are three sections; bar, game room and living/dining room. Leather couches give the palce a homey feel and are great to sink into after a day of skiing. The happy hour goes until 9:00 every night. Any drink is $4.50...any drink! The food is supurb. Nachos for $9.50 are as good as any you will find. Their steak and crab for $20 are an increadible value in Vail. The staff is great too!

“crab legs!”
Reviewed February 13, 2012

Smells like a dive bar. But I'm not here to talk about the ambiance. The happy hour crab legs for 20 bucks are super fantastic. What a deal! Be careful though; they are some prickly legs and I almost had a few puncture wounds during "Dee v. crab legs"

Will definitely return.
