This restaurant has an excellent location sitting on the river in the village of Vail. We heard about the great game meat they offered and thought we should give it a try and pair it with some excellent Carte Blanc Vineyards wine. We were blown away by the fantastic service and the unbelievable choices that the menu offered. Two of us decided to order the 3 rarest choices the menu offered and split them; Elk, Buffalo and Antelope. Each dish that we split was a portion for two and although overwhelmed by the portion size we happily conquered all three. Out of the hundreds of restaurants we have been to in the past year Up the Creek was in the top 5.
Each course was outstanding from appetizer to salad to dessert. Each game meat was prepared excellent, moist and cooked to perfection.

If you only have one choice for your main dish I would rate the buffalo first, then elk then antelope but they were all great!

We will definitely be back! Highly recommended!

We had a lovely meal here, but I felt it was a little pricey for what was decent, although not knock-your-socks-off food. I had elk, a first for me, which was beautifully cooked, but it was served with a risotto which was very rich, I simply couldn't finish it. The portions were unnecessarily large - not a substitute for quality in my book. However, our hotel concierge had told them it was my other half's birthday and so we did get a special on the house dessert of brownie and ice-cream with a candle in!

Go for the short ribs Tender enough to eat with a fork. Tortia soup good and. Great view of the creek. Reasonably priced for vail

We enjoyed a lovely dinner, with wine and dessert but its always pricier in Vail. The service was lovely.

Among our group, we had Short Rib, Elk, and Scallops. All the dishes were outstanding. Recommended excellent option in a town with many high end restaurants.
