Highly recommend this restaurant. We visited Sweet Basil on our 20th anniversary. The food and service was excellent. The staff was very friendly. When the staff learned we were celebrating our anniversary they brought two glasses of complimentary champaign. When our desert arrived the chef had written Happy Anniversary in chocolate on each of our plates. The hot sticky toffee pudding cake desert is incredible!

We've come to make Sweet Basil a mandatory stop whenever we're in Vail. Service is great, wine list and bar are phenomenal, and the food is both an adventure and incredible. Off season they have a Prix Fix that is frankly the best value for the most incredible meal I've had anywhere. On season, the price is competitive. The menu is seasonal and the combinations they come up with are unlike anywhere else. Reservations reco'd.

"outdoor seating" is a bit misleading. They open the front of the restaurant up in nice weather and I think there are 3 or so tables actually outside at that point.

We planned to have a special dinner at this highly recommended restaurant. The restaurant is in a lovely small, intimate setting with views of the creek. The food was very creative and excellent. Several in our party enjoyed the sea bass. The unexpected downside was our wait staff. We expected a more professional interaction as opposed to "that is all I have" in response to a request for a certain condiment, to "I don't' understand what you are asking". Felt to all in our party to be a bit curt and seemed bothered. Do not let that keep you from trying Sweet Basil. The food and atmosphere outweigh what may have just been an off night.

An international class restaurant that should be experienced if you are in the area. The menu is creative and distinctive; the wine list shows great care and diversity. The wine prices are actually quite reasonable for an establishment of this quality. The restaurant uses local Colorado ingredients to the extent possible. The Colorado lamb T-bone is not to be missed.

Tip: There is a sister restaurant, Mountain Standard, that is very good and a bit less pricey.

While visiting Vail my wife and I got a recommendation from the gentleman at the welcome center to try Sweet Basil for lunch. We were in luck because it was "restaurant week" and we had the opportunity to try a appetizer, entrée and dessert all for $20. We decided to try one of each with deviled eggs & salmon mousse, trout & lamb salad and chocolate brownie and fruit sorbet. Really good! The restaurant itself is beautiful and upscale but not pretentious at all. A true treat while in Vail.
