“Blu's at Vail Racquet Club”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 2, 2013

The place was convenient staying the VRC so we tried it one night. I thought the food was good, but I didn't eat a full meal. My friends had full meals and liked the food. I felt it was fairly expensive, but I'm a burrito and sandwich kind of guy.

Our server was really cool and helpful but the greeter was snobby. I don't think he liked that we were in t-shirts and shorts.

“Excellent food and service.”

Wouldn't recommend staying at the Vail Racquet Club, however the food and service at their on location restaurant is very good.

“Breakfast and dinner-both fine”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2013

We had both breakfast and dinner at this spot. The huevos at breakfast and the ruby trout at dinner were excellent. Prices are quite reasonable for a ski area. The trip from town is worth it.

“Dog friendly patio - Excellent restaurant in East Vail”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 18, 2013

Blu's was one of our favorite restaurants over the past 30 years in the Town of Vail. They lost their lease and have moved to the Vail Racquet Club Mountain Resort in East Vail. This pairing of one of the best resorts in the Vail Valley with this venerable Vail restaurant works out well. There are 3-4 tables for 4 and 3-4 tables for two on the patio. The interior of the restaurant is homey and comfortable.

One of my breakfast favorites is their blueberry pancakes. I ordered two blueberry pancakes a la carte for $5.50 [$4.50 without the blueberries]. Another favorite is "green eggs and ham," which consists of ham, poached eggs, asiago cream sauce and spinach. Service was prompt and friendly and the pancakes arrived piping hot and chock full of fresh blueberries. I had our border collie with me and we were able to eat on the patio and enjoy the views down valley. While this happens to be the only restaurant in East Vail, it is worth the trip from Town of Vail if you are staying there. If you are staying at the Racquet Club Resort or elsewhere in East Vail, it is certainly a good bet, particularly after a long ski day when you don't want to cook or go back to the Town of Vail.

John Felizzi is the GM. Meet him. He is a delight. This is a fine restaurant for breakfast. Didn't have time to eat here for dinner.
Evening bartender was a delight & very helpful in explaing their tap beers.
