“Breakfast and dinner-both fine”
Reviewed August 24, 2013

We had both breakfast and dinner at this spot. The huevos at breakfast and the ruby trout at dinner were excellent. Prices are quite reasonable for a ski area. The trip from town is worth it.

“Dog friendly patio - Excellent restaurant in East Vail”
Reviewed August 18, 2013

Blu's was one of our favorite restaurants over the past 30 years in the Town of Vail. They lost their lease and have moved to the Vail Racquet Club Mountain Resort in East Vail. This pairing of one of the best resorts in the Vail Valley with this venerable Vail restaurant works out well. There are 3-4 tables for 4 and 3-4 tables for two on the patio. The interior of the restaurant is homey and comfortable.

One of my breakfast favorites is their blueberry pancakes. I ordered two blueberry pancakes a la carte for $5.50 [$4.50 without the blueberries]. Another favorite is "green eggs and ham," which consists of ham, poached eggs, asiago cream sauce and spinach. Service was prompt and friendly and the pancakes arrived piping hot and chock full of fresh blueberries. I had our border collie with me and we were able to eat on the patio and enjoy the views down valley. While this happens to be the only restaurant in East Vail, it is worth the trip from Town of Vail if you are staying there. If you are staying at the Racquet Club Resort or elsewhere in East Vail, it is certainly a good bet, particularly after a long ski day when you don't want to cook or go back to the Town of Vail.

“Don't Bother”
Reviewed June 30, 2013

Do not go to this restaurant! Terrible food and rude service. We have a vacation home in East Vail and were so excited for a new place to open up in the Racquet Club. Our family of 5 ordered from the take-out menu since we had been travelling all day. We ordered 2 burgers, a small cheese pizza, spring rolls, and penne with marinara (the man taking the order asked me if it was for a child and I said yes, it was for my 13-year old daughter). When we got there, the manager said we had to wait because they had put sausage in the pasta. No big deal. After a couple of minutes, they brought us the bill and the price for the pasta said $16.50 for Pasta of the Day (I did not order Pasta of the Day). When my husband asked about why the child's pasta marinara was $16.50, the manager/owner got very defensive and walked away. (Not to mention he was dressed in baggy shorts and Adidas sandals, not exactly work clothes) When he came back with the rest of our food and the adjusted bill, he sarcastically said "I hope you enjoy your food" and walked away, just leaving us standing there. When we got home, all the food was cold, including the pizza, burger and fries. The burger was overcooked and tasted as if it came from a frozen patty, The bun was stale. We will NEVER eat there again. The old Alpine Tavern was so much better and people and chef who worked there cared so much more. The Racquet Club made a huge mistake by bringing in Blu's.

“We had to look for them”
Reviewed April 7, 2013

We visited Blu's frequently in their previous location but we had to look for them in East Vail. The new location has a very friendly feel to it with a much better bar area than the old spot. The wine list was special as usual with a great variety of choices. I ordered a hoisin grilled pork chop and it was the best tasting piece of pork I have ever eaten! I will certainly be back...it is definitely worth the trip out to
East Vail.

Thank you very much for visiting us, as well as your kind words. We are in the restaurant business to get things right, and it's always nice to hear when our hard work comes to fruition. Hope to see you again soon!
