“Awful food, seriously, AWFUL!!!”
Reviewed December 17, 2013 via mobile

We went in here and dear god I wish we hadn't. We both feel bad (tummy wise) after eating there and our food was really terrible! Our server was nice, but you could tell he knew the food w as no good. Seriously disappointing!!

“Bad food, really bad service”
Reviewed November 20, 2013

We went here for a relaxing late lunch so we could watch the football game. We were told there were tvs at every table, and they were right. That was pretty cool. When we asked for a certain game, we kinda got a sigh, but after 10 minutes it was finally changed.
Apps were not great. Burger was so-so, and the fries were terrible. They were still practically raw. Oh, I forgot to mention, the food took forever to get to us. We finally asked another waiter, because ours was nowhere to be found. The fries came only after we mentioned they were missing. No apologies, no discount.

“Enjoyed a happy hour”
Reviewed October 21, 2013

Stopped here for a quick happy hour while we were waiting for our dinner resevation elsewhere. They really didn't have any happy hour specials but did enjoy a local beer and the edamame appetizer. The appetizer was really good and we had wished we had planned to eat here for dinner. Maybe next time. TVs are all around if you wish to watch sports. It's a good place to hang out.

“Great view, good food & service, live music.”
Reviewed September 20, 2013

Was drawn to the restaurant by live music and stayed when able to get an outside seat with a great view. Mussels and clams with chourizo appetizer was tasty and a good size. Good price for Vail.

“Beautiful facility”
Reviewed September 18, 2013

The Tavern is a welcome addition to Vail Village.

One of the things we lament about Vail Village through the years is the slow but steady erosion of quality watering holes. There just aren’t many places to gather with friends, or to go park yourself for 30 minutes or so while your wife is putting the credit card in meltdown. The Tavern addresses the problem.

Located above the Children’s Fountain in the old Sapphire/May Palace location, the restaurant opened about a year ago, and it’s obvious they made a huge capital investment. It’s a darn good-looking restaurant, with individual television monitors in each of the beautiful dark wood booths.

Attractive bar, with brand-new wide screens. On a recent visit, my friend and I did exactly that -- snuck in for a couple of cocktails and caught a few innings of our favorite MLB team while the wives were out shopping.

While we didn’t dine at The Tavern, the raw bar and the menu both looked exceedingly inviting.

Based upon the beauty of the restaurant, quality service, and the inviting menu, we will most definitely be back.
