We got back yesterday (February 10, 2013) from Vail. We were sore beyond belief after skiing a couple of days and decided to take a break and go snowmobiling. We honestly had no expectations and was blown away by not only how much fun it was but also the breathtaking beauty of the landscape. We took a 2 hour trip on Saturday (February 9, 2013) and we could not recommend it enough. This excursion was the highlight of our trip.
We initially booked a double but my wife opted to ride solo once we got there and she has said several times that she was so glad so did. My wife is very petite and had no issues handling the snowmobile. My one recommendation is to dress as if you are going skiiing. We wore a base layer, mid-layer, and a ski jacket with a liner and never once got cold. We also wore ski pants, ski gloves, winter boots, ski goggles, and a neck gaiter. The neck gaiter is a MUST. The snowmobiles have heated handle bars as well as an exhaust vent blowing on your feet.
We came home with some excellent memories and even better pictures!!
