“Best Japanese ever”
Reviewed January 30, 2014

This is by far the best Japanese food we have ever tried and we eat a lot of Japanese. It is expensive but worth it. Try a lot of different things as the portions are small.

“Fabulous Dinner Spot”
Reviewed January 27, 2014

We had dinner at Matsuhisa last night and what a great experience! The food was wonderful, especially the Black Cod. The waitstaff was outstanding and they did not rush us. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a special dinner out.

“Disappointment Through and Through”
Reviewed January 23, 2014 via mobile

We dined at this restaurant on a Sunday evening with a group of 10. The menu is absurdly over-priced, even for Vail and was the quality of a hibachi sushi house. I understand that this restaurant is in the Nobu family, but the Vail location was incredibly unpleasant from menu to check.

“High expectations, huge disappointment!”
Reviewed January 19, 2014

Provided it was 11 of us we tried almost everything on the menu. Let's start with the positive. The restaurant is located within the Solaris complex and nicely appointed. Their sake collection is extraordinary and sophisticated. However, the food was not up to par. The sushi was below average and the portions for all other dishes was less than samplers... Some flavours were ok but no dish was a rock star. All of us are well traveled foodies and none was impressed. One of the fish dishes we ordered (a Black Cod) was brought almost raw (perhaps the kitchen though they were cooking tuna)...we told the server and she only came back to argue with one of the ladies on our group...it was clearly undercooked...she said the Chef said she had to eat it like that! Really?? So I asked her to let the Chef know he was right and we were wrong but she could take it away! The service was average and not what you would expect from a high end restaurant like this.

“Good flavors but please feed me.”
Reviewed January 15, 2014

I ate at 2 sushi restaurants in vail during my stay and while both were good, the portion sizes are laughable. Expect to pay $200 a person just on food to fill your belly. I don't mind spending money on food but food averages out to about $8-$10 per bite! I don't think they care. The place was packed with foreigners enjoying the weak dollar right now and dropping a fortune on the sushi.
