What a wonderful property and staff. During the summer you do not have snow or the leaves changing color. What you do have is great access to hiking, biking and lounging! Very close to excellent shopping and restaurants. The views facing the back of property are very nice. As always the staff at Ritz are helpful and friendly.

I can't say enough good things about our one week stay. We were familiar with this part of Vail as we had previously stayed at the Marriott and at the Antlers and knew we didn't want to be in the middle of the crowds, which were only a pleasant walk or a short free bus ride away.

Our 3-bedroom condo was very large and well-maintained - each bedroom had it's own bathroom plus a 1/2 bath off the living area. There was more than enough storage and closet area. The kitchen was well-stocked (look before you go grocery shopping - you may not need to buy some items). We used the hotel shuttle to go to the "cheaper and larger" grocery store on the other side of the highway and then called them to pick us up. We never had to drive. We thought housekeeping did a very thorough job - no problems.

Those at the concierge desks were very helpful - made several reservations for us, and always greeted us when we returned. Special events were offered by the hotel (via email) and those which some of us took advantage of - Colorado Beer Tasting and the Architectural Tour of Vail were fun. The kids loved the free chocolate chip cookies every day from 3-5.

All in all, we felt like the Ritz was a great place to stay!

Ritz-Carlton is a brand that evokes expectations of excellent service and high-end properties; unfortunately at this hotel the emphasis is more on "Residence" than "Ritz". We arrived at midnight for a 3 night stay with good friends, and were greeted by a stone-faced employee at check-in who slowly checked us in. I chalked it up to being midnight and that perhaps he was at the end of his shift, but I saw him 2 nights later (earlier in the evening) and was met with the same blank stare/dull look.
We had a large 2 bedroom suite that was very spacious in the common areas but pretty tight in the bedrooms, with virtually no counter space. On our first day, in spite of the fact that we were tired from the trip and were lounging in the room until close to noon, the housekeeping started cleaning when we were out on the balcony (we did not hear them come in), and when we asked them to come back later since we were leaving in an hour, they said they were just doing a quick clean and would be out in 5 minutes. They kept to their word, but did not do a good job cleaning. The next day we were out of the room from early morning (fly fishing!) until early afternoon, but they had not cleaned the room by the time we returned. We were in the room for 1/2 an hour with the do not disturb sign on the door. During that time they left a note on our door saying they had been by to clean but due to the sign they did not come in and that housekeeping was available until 3. At 2:45 I went down to the front desk to request housekeeping (which was becoming a source of irritation for us) and they said they would send someone right up. When we returned at 4:30 the room had still not been cleaned! We complained and they said they would get someone to come and, to their credit, they did, although it was clear they rushed through it.
The property itself is ok (I would rate it a "B"), but not the level I would expect from a Ritz. The pool, like the property (and our experience), was average at best, and not worth the price. Though we loved Vail, the hotel was a fail.

We were scheduled to stay in a different hotel, but that hotel moved us to the Ritz Residences due to a maintenance problem. Therefore we did not pay market rate for our room; we got a ridiculously amazing deal. We stayed in a 4-bedroom condo, and it was magnificent! The room itself was phenomenal---spacious, modern decor, 5 full bathrooms, and laundry in unit. All of the staff was terrific, helpful, friendly. Our kids loved s'mores by the pool in the afternoon. The shuttle was a great convenience; we never drove our own car in Vail.

Our large family group (5 adults and 6 teens/pre-teens) recently stayed in a 4 bedroom residence. Wow! From the moment we arrived, the staff treated us so well - truly the best customer service from staff that we have ever received. We felt special from the moment we arrived, until we left. There were eleven of us, and the 4 bedroom residence accommodated us so well! We had a magnificent view of the ski mountain and the gondolas, the pools - and the gorgeous landscaping, The residence was decorated beautifully, and the living area, the balconies, the kitchen, the bedrooms, and bathrooms - were all very nice! We spent plenty of time at the pool (one of the hot tubs was undergoing a "makeover", but that didn't cause us any problems). We took advantage of the bbq grills on two of our evenings there, the nice large fire-pit area, the delicious, freshly baked cookies that are available each afternoon, and the marshmallows for roasting each day. There is complimentary shuttle service for trips around Vail, and we took advantage of the shuttle to take our group to the base of Booth Creek Trail - for an outstanding hike - and then they picked us up to take us back to the property. We also walked over to Vail Village - very close - for some shopping and meals, as well as being able to walk for quick access to the gondolas which took us up to the top of the mountain, where we enjoyed Epic Discovery. Overall, a greatly enjoyed visit by all in our party!!! Honestly, the only thing we could say that might be an improvement recommendation would be a larger kitchen trash can - and truly, that is very insignificant.

Room Tip: The 4 bedroom residence on the 5th floor viewing the mountain and the pool is wonderful!
