As a seasoned traveller, and a keen skier I chose this resort with trepidation after reading the very mixed reviews. Clearly you love it or hate it and I have to say that it is the worst hotel I have stayed at - yes in a prime location by Gondola One but that's all it has going for it. Spent as little time as I could in the room - very dull & dingy, not clean with a lot of issues - lights not working, bedding not made, window coverings broken, faulty kettle, faulty cooker ... to name but a few. Whilst walking through the lobby one day in 5 minutes I witnessed a couple getting an upgrade because of a number of issues, and a guy getting a significant reduction off his bill. There are far nicer hotels to stay at, and probably much nicer resorts - Vail is vastly overrated.
