“Good Location, 3 Star Hotel”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2012

We stayed in a 3 bedroom, 2 bath room recently. The kitchenette and one of the bathrooms had been updated, but the furniture & 1 bathroom were 1980's country. The beds were fine, but overall the room was just ok. We did see other rooms, and it truly is luck of the draw. Some of the rooms have A/C, some do not. Some have been updated, some have not. The condo rooms are large enough to house 2 to 3 couples, or a family, but the 3rd bedroom will have twin beds in most cases.

Pros: Location - it is in Vail Village, easy to access shops and the slopes. You can't beat the location. They give you ample filtered water everyday. Some of the rooms are very nice. Staff was friendly.
Cons: Rooms are hit and miss.

We stayed here for a conference and I was able to bring my wife and two children. The location was perfect - right in the middle of all the action. The hotel looks older from the outside, and the hallways are narrow, but the rooms we had were upgraded and gorgeous! The entire staff were welcoming and helpful, from the front desk to the housekeeping and bell staff. The conference center was more than adequate. Our children were welcomed also. We would definitely make this a return choice.

I was really looking forward to my stay in Vail during a recent family get together. I booked the room using an online company to save some money, but even then, it was expensive. The check in experience was average. I was pleased in saving money on my room, but then had to pay a resort fee and a valet parking fee. My other choice was to park in the village parking which was a jaunt from the hotel. I was impressed by the room, quite quaint and cozy. I was looking forward to the cool mountain breezes at night and there was no air conditioning which seemed to be the norm in the mountains. Our room overlooked the village and was fine until 230am when intoxicated drunks came through and then some police activity which woke us up. We closed the windows, but then roasted to death because there was no air conditioning! They did provide a fan which provided a little relief. The bathroom amenities was good quality and the robes/slippers and bottled water were a nice touch. Overall, I don't think I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Stay away from the rooms overlooking the village.

We booked a middle of the week trip to the Lodge at Vail for our mini-honeymoon (work prevented a longer trip), and could not have been happier. Despite hosting two large conferences over the same time as our stay, we rarely saw other people. The room was fantastic (luxury 1br suite) -- enormous king bed with many fluffy pillows and a down comforter. The bathroom is enormous with separate his and hers vanity areas. Large whirlpool and a very nice shower. There is a small refrigerator in the room as well. Our room also had a porch overlooking the fire pit with the ski slopes just off in the distance. Many hummingbirds made appearances on the flowerbed on our porch as well!

The pools are fantastic, particularly the mountain view pool. There is a large waterfall feature and 2 hot tubs, one of which is adult-only and separated from the main pool area. The gym is one of the best I've seen in a resort, and while I didn't use any of the spa services, the sauna and steam room are available free of charge. We had a drink or two at Elways one night, which was wonderful.

I highly recommend the Lodge at Vail -- we will certainly be returning.

Room Tip: This resort has multiple wings -- request the luxury wing, where the newer rooms are located. Not al...

Service is friendly and excellent; top notch. Property is clean and very comfortable. Excellent amenities and perfect location in the heart of vail village. this is our third time staying here and we have had a great experience every time. Service provided by the front desk staff and bellman staff have always exceeded our expectations. Can't wait to come back again!

Yes, the room was a tad small...but the staff was fantastic at every turn, starting with providing me a toothbrush. Our room didn't have a mini fridge in it, but all we did was ask and a few minutes later it was provided. The valet guys were very friendly, as was the front desk and concierge. The quality of the service made our stay very enjoyable. Great location in Vail. The spa attached is very nice and the yoga instructor was excellent.

This is an older property but the renovations have kept up with the times. Very nicely furnished rooms and bathrooms. Comfy bed and pillows. Rock Resorts Spa amenities in bathroom. Location in the middle of the village is convenient to anywhere you want to go. Only downside is that I woudl have expected fresh towels and water with the evening turndown service. Staff is professional and friendly.
