Description: Make dining fun again. Four Seasons Resort Vail has reinvented Flame Restaurant with inventive twists on classic steakhouse favorites. Start off by tempting your palate with elk corndogs and a duo of dipping sauces, indulgent sides, such as truffled comte fritters with wild mushroom and bacon ragout, or satisfy your sweet tooth with maple bacon doughnuts with cherry bourbon compote. Of course, our menu still offers a variety of prime steak selections, like the 32-ounce dry-aged Waygu Ribeye, which is cooked to perfection under our 1,800 degree custom broiler, paired with house-made sauces and carved tableside.

A wonderful meal enjoyed in wonderful surroundings with wonderful views. I would highly recommend Flame. I am still dreaming about their wasabi mashed potatoes and the trout I had! The service is excellent -friendly and caring. I like upscale restaurants which are not pretentious -and the Flame is just that. It offers a great dining experience without being ostentatious.

Flame restaurant is a voluminous, lodge-like steakhouse. The seating is comfortable and spacious. They have a good sized wine list that offers a broad choice of selections in terms of price and varietal. If you feel like splurging, you can even order some DRC selections that have a very reasonable mark up. I had the 35-day aged bison ribeye and lobster mashed potatoes accompanied by a half bottle of the "Emeritus" pinot noir. The ribeye was a little more marbled than I had anticipated, but was packed with flavor. The lobster taters were tasty and there was a reasonable amount of lobster meat pieces in the offering to make it enjoyable. There were six sauces that accompanied the steak and it made for an interesting tasting experience. The service was excellent. I found it to be a very nice restaurant if you don't feel like venturing out for the evening. It would have been nicer to have had the entree accompanied by a vegetable or two. Did not try the desserts.

The breakfast has wonderful variety. The buffet is bountiful and there are wonderful selections on the menu. For dinner, great selections of salads, appetizers and fun rubs and sauces for your meats! Yum.

Having had a few poor meals when we visited other specialist steak restaurants in Vail,we felt sure that the Four Seasons would deliver a great dining experience, especially as we had stayed in other Four Seasons hotels in Mauritius and Bali and had always had fantastic food.
the restaurant certainly looks good with lots of booths and comfortable leather seating and our waiter was pleasant and helpful.
Unfortunately it was beyond the chefs ability to turn out 4 steak meals cooked the way we had requested.My steak was fine but the potato fries cooked in duck fat were dry and luke warm.I have tasted better fries at Denny's.The two steaks that we asked to be cooked medium rare were served medium but were still edible.
The real shocker was the fourth steak which should have been medium but was cooked way beyond well done.It was dry, grey,overcooked and tasteless.
To the waiters credit he took it away as soon as we showed it to him.We invited him to take it back to the chef to taste it but he declined saying that he could see how bad it was and that we would not be charged for it.We do not go out to restaurants looking to find fault nor our we wannabe restaurant critics,on the contrary we simply want our food cooked as ordered and served hot.
I invite the manager to tell us all why one of the most expensive steakhouses in the Vail valley in one of Americas best hotels cannot serve four steaks cooked to order.This was a blot on the Four Seasons good name.
