“Beautiful serene hotel in perfect location”
Reviewed July 4, 2013 via mobile

This was my first visit to Four Seasons Vail, what a beautiful almost fantasy addition to Vail Valley. The spa was amazing, staff very eager to please and after your service you can go straight to the outdoor pool and lounge area with fireplace. Best piña colada I've ever had. We also visited the Flame restaurant, which had a wonderful lunch overlooking the pool and mountains. We will be back soon-fabulous!!!!!

We came to Vail from Denver for a quick weekend getaway. The reception was well choreographed and elegant. The valet team was courteous and quick. On that subject, they will drive you anywhere in town in a plush Mercedes SUV on a moments notice.

I reserved a suite with a mountain view that overlooked the pool. The room was humongous. As nice as that may seem, the living room was actually such a big space it dwarfed the furnishings and the 42" TV seemed too small. Having a second bathroom was a nice touch.

Our room had two balconies with gorgeous views of Vail mountain. Early the first morning I looked forward to having a cup of the in-room espresso on the balcony with the newspaper and to soak up some mountain air. I went out to discover two disappointments. First, there was no furniture on either of my balconies even though I could see other rooms had some. Then as I stood there I realized the reggae music blaring up from the pool was so loud I wouldn't want to be out there anyway. Not relaxing. I did call down to ask them to turn it off (I thought they just forgot), and I think they did turn it down. But the music stayed on 24/7. We could not even leave our balcony doors open for fresh air with listening to Ziggy Marley. If we were at the Hard Rock Hotel for Spring Break, the music would have been a natural fit. Come on, Four Seasons, recognize your demographic.

I headed down to the fitness center and the place was very nice, plenty of new equipment and space. I will say the amenities were a bit sparse for the rates Four Seasons charges. I've stayed at Marriotts that have complimentary bottled water and a bowl of apples in the gym for guests. No luck here.

Later, we made our way to the pool to do some lounging. Our server, Shelby, was on top of her game. She was quick; remembered our names and our favorite drinks throughout the stay. We had lunch at the pool. The burger was great, the fries were hot and delicious. The poke tacos were not good. They appeared to have been assembled hours earlier. My first margarita was tasty, but too weak so I asked for an extra shot. The second margarita was way too tart and almost un-drinkable. They need to get a better bartender at the pool if they are going to charge $25 for a double marg.

The other minor foibles:
One morning all the coffee in the lobby was gone and it took 15 minutes for them to refill it.
Another time, I needed a bandaid and the front desk was all out. They had to call security to come bring one and that took ten minutes.

All in all, we had a great trip and a very nice stay. I would stay here again, but wouldn't pay all the extra dough for the suite.

Thanks for your recent review. Glad you mentioned the guest access to our Mercedes fleet and your suite.

Regarding balcony furniture, not all of our balconies have it, but all guests can easily request it by calling the front desk.

Thanks for mentioning Shelby; we'll commend her.

Regarding your other comments, please feel free to e-mail me at jim.guttau@fourseasons.com. We want all of our guests to feel as if we exceeded their expectations--on each and every visit to our Resort.

The interior design is warm, inviting, and very Colorado-ish. The staff is friendly and helpful. We liked the comfortable bed and linens, the mini frig, the coffee machine in the room as well as the coffee and muffins in the lobby in the morning. The room was large and had a fireplace and balcony. The bathroom had a nice shower plus a freestanding clawfoot tub. The marble and limestone on the bathroom floor, walls, and counters are attractive. We did have to wait to get lounge chairs at the pool and we came in the shoulder season but the staff took a wait list and helped us when chairs became available. The location is convenient for the shops and restaurants. You can use the hot tub, steam room, and sauna in the spa without charge, but be aware that you do have to pay a $30/day resort fee. Valet parking is $25/day. Taxes are $31/day. So that is about $90/day over and above the daily rate. We did not try the Flame restaurant and the other restaurant was closed so can't comment on them.

Room Tip: The rooms over the garden area are quieter but not as attractive a view as the pool overlook. The 5t...

I stayed at the Four Seasons Vail in June. The property is located in an ideal spot as it is next to Vail Village and is a short walk to Lionshead. The hotel staff provides unbelievable service, which stemmed from their champagne toast at 4 on Wednesday to their poolside BBQ with live music from local acts, along with their standard service. The rooms are very comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Vail.

My husband and I recently spent 4 glorious days at the Four Seasons Vail. Words cannot describe how beautiful the hotel is or how friendly the staff was. We felt like family from the moment we arrived. The location allows for day trips to many of Colorado's other quaint villages. It is also within walking distance of Vail Village and Lionshead Village which offers plenty of shops and restaurants. We are already planning next summers vacation.
