“A must go”
Reviewed March 9, 2013

This fabulous restaurant has an incredible menu. It does not serve until 4:00 and is very expensive however if you love Swiss food this is for you. Geschnatzles mit rosti, fondue, bünderfleisch...they have it all!!!

“If you like fondue you'll love the chalet”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

In the sonnenalp this restaurant seemed very popular and somewhat difficult to get a reservation. It's known for fondue and we had cheese fondue appetizer which was great. Combo of three cheeses w an assortment of spices. Beef fondue also very good. Extensive wine list. Very nice experience but not inexpensive - $235 for 4 of us w 2 kids. We were full when we left! Wait staff in Swiss attire - a nice touch.

“Worst meal of the trip”
Reviewed February 21, 2013

This restaurant seems to be popular with kids; perhaps because of the novelty of eating fondue among those who didn't grow up with fondue-loving parents of the 60s and 70s. The fondue was fine. The other dishes weren't particularly appetizing. The wine list was nice though.

What really spoiled the meal was the service. My family and I got the impression that the staff was trying to rush us out the door, maybe to get another seating in? We were asked very soon after being seated if we knew what we wanted to order, and had plates cleared in a nearly frenetic pace. Not inexpensive either. Laughable. We definitely won't return.

“The real Fondue experience”
Reviewed January 17, 2013

We visited the Swiss Chalet after a long day of skiing - and after being in North America for 3 years, the only thing we really miss is a good Raclette or Fondue. Outside of Switzerland, this has been the best Fondue & Raclette (we went there for 2 straight nights). Also the authentic (you wouldnt expect that the owner is a German) decoration and wine list make it a great experience. Quite noisy and nothing for a romantic dinner.
