we were moved from our village lodging to the vail spa condomimiums in lionshead. the facilities were top notch and the staff was more than accommodating. the expansion of lionshead makes this area feel not so isolated as in the past. add to that the bus stop right across the street and you have a winning combination!!

Lots of room, kitchen, very clean and spacious for a family of 6. We stayed 4 nights and had 3 great days of skiing within walking distance to the slopes. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby also. Kids were very happy.

The Condo is really nice! Close to everything,,, beautiful,,,, clean and the staff were great. Did have a problem with the heat being too much ! and difficult to lower.... ours was off in the room and it still was way too hot ! The Fridge didn't work, but they came and tried to fix it. We left before the results on that

We stayed last year and returned this year. The staff are great and the units are very nice. The rooms are very warm - have to open the windows to keep the unit cool. The hot tub was bordering on hot. We would stay again

The people are great. The price is wonderful. Decor is dated. Beds are harder than the Rocky Mountains. Thermostats apparently do not work. We had to open windows at night with heat OFF. Whirlpool tub in room spit out black hair balls (I have red hair - none of my roommates used my room). DO NOT schlep your skis back and forth every day. Valet them at Arabelle for $10/day. It's worth it. The walk is killer ridiculous, not "a short jaunt." Hot tub, pool, and sauna facilities are way nice. The individual condos need to catch up with that part. And owners would do well to invest in equipment valet similar to Marriott which is just across the street. Bus stop is just across the street at Marriott with infrared heat! I am a stickler for hanging up towels and saving water. Despite the signs in the bathroom and me following those instructions, EVERY TOWEL AND WASHCLOTH was replaced EVERY DAY. I don't see how the cost of my room was so low with no ski valet, the temperature at 90 degrees, and 3 sets of bath terry for 2 people (and there were 40+ in our group!) every day.

Dear Shelli,

It was our pleasure to host you and your ski club at Vail Spa once again this year. We appreciate the feedback on your most recent stay. Thanks for your comments regarding our staff – we are proud of the excellent service they provide each and every day! Great point about the ski valet, too. That is an exclusive deal we worked out for our guests (the cost is actually only $7.50/day for ski storage at the base of the Eagle Bahn Gondola). The walk to the mountain takes about 5 minutes. An alternative is to hop on the free shuttle that picks up just outside our front door. If you ride the shuttle to Golden Peak, there is virtually no walk to the lift at all.

In response to your comment regarding heat, each residence has electric baseboard heaters; some have controls on the heaters themselves as opposed to on the main thermostat. Our maintenance team is always ready to assist with temperature control or anything else requested!

Your club had reserved residences at our best value rate. While the residence you stayed in had several nice upgrades, it is one of our more standard offerings; clean and comfortable, but not our luxury product. Each Vail Spa Residence is individually owned and decorated. I would invite any potential guest to view the wide range of offerings on our website. We have recent photos of all residences on the site. You will notice that we have something for everyone – from the value minded traveler to someone looking for grand elegance.

Finally, thank you for letting us know that the towels are being changed too frequently. I have addressed this with our housekeeping team. We have taken on many eco-friendly initiatives in recent years, including reducing energy and water consumption by asking our guests to rehang towels that they wish to use again. We also installed single stream recycling bins in all residences, use recycled paper products and environmentally friendly bath amenities, switched to CFL/LED/Solar lighting throughout the common areas and on the exterior of the building, monitor our utility usage, track our waste and recycling diversion rates, encourage our employees to monitor and reduce their carbon footprint and volunteer in our local community, just to name a few of our “Eco-Care” initiatives… it’s a work in progress, and it’s important to us!

I hope that I have fairly addressed your comments and concerns. If not, please feel free to call and speak with me anytime. We look forward to seeing you again next December.

Sincerely,
Jessica Davis
