“Wonderful base for summer adventure in Vail”
Reviewed August 20, 2013

Staid with family and parents for a 5 day summer vacation in Vail. Lovely accommodation and a convenient base for exploring Vail in the Summer. The staff were very helpful during our stay. Would consider staying there again.

We stayed at Vail Spa as part of a Ski Club Group. We were treated royally by the staff. Our condo was roomy, well furnished and the kitchen had all new first rate appliances. Hot tub and pool were great after skiing. It is also a very short walk to the gondola.

Room Tip: The corner units are very roomy

Five minute walk from the Eagle Nest gondola in the Lionshead area of Vail, this condo complex has well appointed recently remodeled units. Ours was a three bedroom with fairly new leather couches, flat screen TVs in the living room and each of the bedrooms, but not HD. Lighting was modern and provided adequate illumination. The kitchen had all new appliances. We liked the art work. The stairs were not appreciated. Only one of the bedrooms was on the lower floor. There were indoor and outdoor pools and spas. We found the indoor spa to be small with inadequate jets, but appreciated the availability of towels adjacent to facilities. At $4,000 for five days per three bedroom unit, they were pricey, but if go to Vail, you have to expect to pay premium rates for a condo close to the mountain.

This is a good building at Lionshead although quite old. The condos that i saw had been modernised really well and we had absolutely no complaints about the condo itself - it was fantastic. The pool and spa facilities were terrific, both inside and out. The ski room is pretty average, only room for skis, no boot drying or lockers.
The only two real problems with this building are this:
The building backs onto the I70 (freeway) - this has become a common problem for Vail - be careful when booking you dont end up sleeping on the freeway as we did.
The second issue is the location to the lift - it is a bit of a walk because of the fact that the village square is surrounded by buildings and you cant access it from these condos easily. You have to go around the road which takes some time - and can be hard when carrying skis.
So, make sure your condo (including bedrooms) doesnt face the freeway and always factor in the cost of a ski valet at the bottom of the hill so you dont have to carry skis and boots home each day - its a trek!

Room Tip: Ensure your condo doesnt face the freeway (Interstate 70) including the bedrooms. Ask to see pictur...

When we travel with three or more in our group, Vail Spa Condos is ideal. Each unit has a spacious kitchen/eating area and living room for congregating. The Condos are conveniently located directly across from the Town Hybrid Bus Shuttle at the Marriott so if you choose to ride over walking, it's right there.
Units vary as far as decor and obviously some please us over others. All are well-maintained and if by chance something is not right, Housekeeping or Engineering is quick to resolve the issue.
We have stayed at Vail Spa Condos maybe a dozen times over the past few years and continue to enjoy the experience.

Room Tip: Consult with the knowledgeable staff - they know the units well. If you have particular concerns su...

We rented a Vail Spa penthouse condo for our family this summer and were quite happy with the choice. Not only was our unit extremely spacious, tasteful and clean but the views from most every window were breathtaking. There was ample room (and plenty of flat screen tvs) for all, giving us room within the unit for both family and individual private time, as well.

Well stocked kitchen with top-notch applicances, washer/dryer, luxe bath, whole unit AC, hardwood floors, several patios overlooking west Vail, great media room,...even a piano...we were very impressed.

Room Tip: Might need to ask reservations which units have less road noise. We had none but hear that others m...

We stayed at the Vail Spa condos the first week of March and the property exceeded my expectations. My first concern was the size of the unit but there was plenty of room for the four of us. The second was the location because by the map it seemed kind of far away from the gondola, and walking in ski boots is not my idea of a fun vacation. However, we stored our skis at our rental spot and had an easy walk each morning to hit the slopes. Plus, the Vail bus picked up right across the street by the Marriott. Housekeeping was great and even did the dishes! Can't think of any negatives. We would definitely choose the Vail Spa Condos again.
A word about getting to and from the airport-- check the valley bus schedule and if you see a route with just a few stops that fits your timetable, take it! When arriving we took a taxi for $140 for four of us. Our flights timed with the public bus well and we were able to take the bus on departure day to Eagle-- 4 bucks each! It only took about 15 minutes longer than it would have for a private taxi. Felt a little wierd riding with our luggage but we didn't displace any riders.
