We stayed here 3 nights over Labor Day weekend. The resort exceeded our expectations the moment we walked in. We've been to Vail the last 4 years and stayed at the Four Season and The Sebastian twice each. Money has been tight this year so we had to find a cheaper place to stay and Vail Cascade Resort & Spa did not disappoint.

The resort is huge. They have their own lift up to the top of Vail Mountain. They have a great heated pool that overlooks the river and the mountain. We spent one night at the Atwater Bar which had a nice selection of drinks and the bar staff was friendly.

We were on the 3rd floor of the resort. We had a partial view of the mountain along with the river but without a balcony. We were able to open the window (screened) which is very nice because it lets the cool air into the room. Plus we were able to hear the river at night. The walls are rather thin. You can hear everything so just be aware of that if you're a light sleeper. We bring a fan everywhere we go for white noise so we were fine sleeping.

The maid staff was friendly and did a great job cleaning the room. The front desk staff was very helpful. They have a shuttle that goes to Lionshead Village and Vail Village, which is great to use when the weather is bad. We used it a couple of times when it was raining.

You'll really enjoy this resort so I highly recommend staying there.

Dear freddie1933,
What a great review! Knowing that you previously stayed at other hotels in Vail and would now highly recommend Vail Cascade means a lot to us. Time and time again we are recognized for providing a great experience at an exceptional value due to our service, amenities and location. We’re truly honored by your review and appreciate your thoroughness. We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed your room, Atwater on Gore Creek, and the staff. We take great pride in proving genuine service and hope you do return again. The temperatures are dropping and the leaves are changing, which means snow is soon to come and you’ll be able to use our chairlift!

Stayed here for conference-spacious rooms and big layout may leave you with a long walk to your room. Free shuttle every 15 minutes takes you into Vail/Lionshead. Wifi available but was spotty in some hotel locations.

Great grounds and amenities. Comfortable beds and updated bath. Restaurants looked good tho we didn't try them. $25 resort fee added to the room rate but that did include free wifi, shuttle to Vail Village and parking.

We stayed only for a night but enjoyed it very much. The room is very huge with a very luxurious bathroom. Big TV, fridge and robes provided. Our room was right on the river which was also very nice. They have a huge restaurant which we did not dine at but looked nice. They have free parking which is about a 250 foot walk from the entrance of the hotel in a garage. They also have a few swimming pools and a few hot tubs which seemed quite private as well.

My wife and I are not resort type travelers. We like a little adventure and places away from the beaten path. However, we stayed here two nights in mid August based on a very conducive rate with no resort fee or parking charge and we loved it. The property is very attractive and the rooms are large and fresh. The staff was very professional and friendly through out, especially in the bar and at the concierge desk. We asked for a different room (we were assigned one on the fourth floor with no balcony) and a change was quickly made. Upon check in we were each given a coupon for a flight of craft beers in the bar. This turned out to be a very generous sampling of beers served creek side by a very efficient and friendly wait person. We ordered some sweet potato fries to go with the beer and had a wonderful afternoon. A real highlight is the hotel shuttle which runs from the hotel to the two main Vail village areas. The shuttle ran on time and every 20 minutes, so after you arrive at the hotel you can just leave the car in the garage. At night there are several fire pits spread around the property which are great to cozy up to. Adult beverages are available from the circulating wait staff but there is no pressure to order.

In short we found everything at Cascade Vail very relaxing. A well managed resort indeed. The property is large, so a walk to your room can be substantial. The bar and restaurant were very popular in the evening.

Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Rooms on fourth floor do not have balconies. Ask for a creek view room or else you will face the parking lot and entrance. This is a large property and a walk to your room could be substantial so you may want to specify a "close in" room.
