I also wanted a tub bath and went to the grocery store a short walk away and bought a stopper. Problem solved.
The town of Vail free bus made getting to the mountain a breeze.
I stayed for a month and did most of my own cooking with the refrigerator and microwave I had requested when I reserved 6 months before my stay. The Roost has changed little since my family stay in 1983. I brought a small sound canceling machine to mask highway noise. Guests were quiet and considerate the month I was there. The buildings were freshly painted inside and out.
Linens are well used but clean...pillows hard. Mattress comfortable. Shampoo, lotions and soap as well as deodorant,& other samples were provided.
The heat in my room didn't work, so the hall was blazing hot, to keep the rooms warm.
Breakfast started at 7:30.
For those who complain about office hours, they are posted on the site.
staff were pleasant, but not energetic.
I didn't use the available hot tub and sauna.
I knew what to expect and hope to stay there next year as it is within my budget.
When The Roost is eventually redone, I won't be able to afford it.
