“This wonderful alpine garden is well worth a visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 16, 2011

The Betty Ford Alpine Garden is more than a garden. If offers the visitor the opportunity to experience the Rocky Mountain environment in it's many eco systems that have been created for the nature enthusiast. For those who do not have the time or capability to take a hike in the surrounding mountains, a trip to this garden will give the visitor the feeling that he has entered the mountains themselves.
Located next to the Ford Amphitheatre, the visitor can park at Ford Park ( about 1 mile east of the town parking structure) walk down the path to the east of the tennis courts, pass the Amphitheatre to the entrance of the garden. Wear proper walking shoes as the visit does entail some stair climbing.
It is well worth a visit !!

“Rocky Mountain Shangri-La”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 28, 2011

Well manicured garden with many benches. At the end of June it seemed everything was in bloom. The gift shop is a retired one room school house. If you're driving it's easiest to park at the east end of the Ford Park parking lot. Follow the path directly south of the lifting arm barrier gate. Go past the entrance of the Ampitheather, look for a metal gate.

“re garden tours”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 21, 2011

Hi, yes the Betty Ford gardens are beautiful - small and a little difficult to find, but worth it especially if you like flowers/gardens. There is also a small gift shop a few steps away worth checking out. I believe there are also garden tours given on Monday, Saturdays and perhaps Wednesdays at 10:30 am. I have not gone on when yet but have it on my things to do while in Vail. The information office can give you best directions to get there. If you have a bike, the trail goes right to it. And again the garden is small but has many many different flowers/plants.

“A Beautiful, Free Attraction in Colorado”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 17, 2010

This garden is very beautifully designed on a hillside in Vail. Best thing, it is free. It was a little difficult to find. It is behind the Gerald Ford Amphitheatre and hidden.
