a great place, run by great people.
the menu is varied making sure eveyone is kept happy.
the value for money becomes evident when the plates arrive......plenty of food and cooked well.
They could do with a larger range of beer.

Ok so it is only a cafe, order at counter type set up but the food is genuinely fresh and excellent - we are from NYC and this Mexican rates as good as anything there and is perfect after hard day skiing - coffee is proper coffee, service excellent, a little slow but if you want fast food go to subway ...... Excellent.

Can't fault this place as it was low key , extremely cheap and the food was beaut ! Unlike Macca's you gladly took your plates back to the waiter area and little touches like this obviously keeps the overheads down. It was a little like a supermarket and once you have been there you would pick up where the bargains are , the corn chips and sauces etc are all self serve but a real wholesome feel and result.

We really enjoyed the hospitality of the staff at La Cocina along wiht the food. The tacos as small but over-filled and very flavorful. The Chips & Salsa Bar, fantastic! Several choices of salsa to compliment your chips. The margaritas...home made and very good.

It may not be the Mexican food you're used to if you're from Texas, but it's still quite good. We rode the gondola down from Mountain Village and walked the streets to find something different from the last few nights. La Cocina de Luz was open (most restaurants were closed for the season). You stand in line at the counter to make your order. We needed help, which the lady gave with a smile. When it's ready, the staff brings the food to your table. Chips and pico/salsa are self-serve.

We enjoyed eating here. It wasn't as expensive as other restaurants at which we dined during the week, so right off the bat, two thumbs up. ;>)

They treated us as locals, not vacationers . . . which was cool. I don't know if there was tipping or not, so left a couple of dollars on the table as we left (for bringing out our plates and tea).

OH, and they have several flavors of ice cream for when you're finished.
