“Great location & Yummy food”
Reviewed December 19, 2012

Great seafood, including fresh tasting sushi. Sake was tasty. Location was near bars and downtown area. Large bar downstairs. Friendly staff.

“Fancy, Frisky & Fun Fusion at 8500 Feet”
Reviewed December 19, 2012

Honga's Lotus Petal is a frisky fusion restaurant located on Main Street in Telluride. It's clever mix of Japanese, Thai and Chinese cuisine is a welcome counterpoint to the more hearty and traditional food served around town and I always suggest at least one visit to Honga every season. The menu offers something for everyone and many of the dishes are served "family style" so that everyone at the table can enjoy a taste. The eclectic menu is not cheap and the final bill at Honga's is often a surprise, but you "get what you pay for," and fresh fish is not easy to find in a Box Canyon at 8500 feet above sea level. Consider an "apres ski" visit to the large downstairs bar which serves some of the best Mojitos in the West and is just a flat out fun place for a cocktail - or two.

“Good fresh asian fusion, expect to pay a lot”
Reviewed October 15, 2012

I've always enjoyed eating at Honga's. The japanese dishes and sushi are very good. The Thai dishes are missing some authenticity. Friendly staff, except one time the sushi chef was rude after we told him we didn't know the salmon roll we ordered was cooked, wasn't clear on the menu and we weren't offered a replacement. Very expensive. Nice spacious centrally located atmosphere on main street. The quality of food isn't quite up to par with what is being charged, but I realize rent in Telluride isn't cheap either. I recommend the other place if your looking for traditional Thai food. I make Honga's an occasional visit when I'm in town.

“Unexpectedly delicious”
Reviewed October 6, 2012

My husband and I were in Telluride this past summer and ventured into this restaurant. We shared a fish hotpot with a spicy basil coconut sauce. It was absolutely delicious and unexpected because I thought it was a bit chancy to order fish in Telluride. Everything tasted very fresh, and there was a good variety in the hotpot. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and this dish.
