Description: Once a grand saloon in the thriving mining camp of Telluride, The Cosmopolitan is now home to the fresh, innovative creations of Chad Scothorn, who has received national attention and praise for his original, fresh approach to food preparation. Serving dinner nightly, this elegantly simple 80 seat restaurant is located in the newly remodeled luxurious Hotel Columbia at the base of the Gondola. Known locally as "Cosmo", the custom cherry wood bar is the perfect place to unwind. In the summer, the west patio lounge is a refreshing outdoor dining experience. The Restaurant is open five days a week until December 6. On December 6, the restaurant will be open seven days a week.

We sat outside and enjoyed half price sushi, wine, and comsos. Very fun spot. Wait staff was excellent, and location is A+.

We capped off a wonderful two weeks in Telluride with dessert and coffee at Cosmo. We ordered every single dessert on the menu so i sampled them all- (we had a party of 7). They were all delicious and the kids loved the idea of just ordering dessert! We did make reservations for 8:30 and they were ready for us when we arrived. The ambience is classic Telluride, laid back in with an understated elegance. My family felt very comfortable and had a wonderful time. I knocked off one star for the service. Initially our very friendly waitress was very attentive and then disappeared.

The six of us enjoyed this restaurant for the excellent, interesting food. Dinner entrees ranged from steaks to duck to sushi. The wine, craft beer, and specialty drink selections were great, and our seating had a view of the gondola. We also visited New Sheridan and Allred's but this was my favorite.

I have been coming to this restaurant for over 10 years. Every time my family and myself make it to Telluride, we ALWAYS have a Cosmo night! This restaurant is incredibly consistent with creativity and culinary experiences. On top of having amazing food, the service is beyond professional, trained and knowledgable of not only the food, but also wine pairings. This is a perfect spot to start your culinary adventure in Telluride, Colorado. Dont forget to have a Cosmo! :)

This was our third choice for dinner. The other locations had 30 minute waits on a Monday night.
Wow...immediate seating, great table with view of Gondola. The staff was spot on...we had Cobb salad, soup of the day, sashimi...dishes were perfect. We finished with the berry pie with vanilla ice cream (made with sour creme)..what a treat! The bill was less than $50..
