Description: Located in the original homestead that was built on Devil's Thumb Ranch in the 1930s. We like to think that when those early pioneers picked the spot for their home, it was chosen for its magnificent views – elk and moose wander by, horses enjoy their meals in the meadow and a blanket of stars light the night in a way you can only see in a place like this. We also like to think that those early Ranchers knew a thing or two about eating well. And we carry on the tradition with style at Ranch House Restaurant. We serve New American Mountain Cuisine here – which means real food, cooked with real ingredients, including Wagyu beef from our own Ranch-raised herd. All natural and locally grown whenever we can. Always fresh, always delicious.

Yum yum yum. We arrived at the restaurant planning to have a sumptuous meal, and we weren't disappointed. Started with fresh baked rolls (we had rosemary and italian cheese) and the chef's amuse bouche (root soup) and then we had scallops and corn/green chile chowder for appetizers. The menu changes with the seasons and there was a long list of untraditional meat choices, including elk and wild boar. The constant, filet, was like butter -- simply amazing. Dessert was phenomenal, topped with homemade ice cream.

They have an incredible wine list. If it's a quiet night, ask the enthusiastic host for a visit to the wine cellar...!

The view is fantastic if you can manage to be seated against the windows facing the mountains and nordic trails. You can watch the colors change as the sun sets.

Great atmosphere and overall experience. I tried the elk meat- not a fan. Besides that the food was good. Go there for early dinner or pre dinner drinks to enjoy the view.

Have you ever had a meal where every course was the best thing you ever had? Well, that's what this meal was.

To start, they brought a creamy broccoli soup that the chef wanted to try out. It was delicious, and I wished for a whole bowl of it. Next was a choice of bread. I chose Parmesan, and my boyfriend chose Rosemary. Even the butter was the perfect consistency for spreading! When our server came to offer more bread, neither of us wanted to try another variety, because we both felt that nothing else could be better than the one we already had!

He ordered a field green salad, which was not particularly special, but very fresh and crisp. I had the tomato and goat cheese tart. It was heavenly. Truly.

He ordered the Wagyu Beef, and I had Elk. We enjoy steaks of course, but generally neither of us can finish one. We both finished these. They were simply too good to stop until they were completely gone!

And then we had dessert. Mmmmmm. It was an award-winning chocolate and cherry creation, and it was the perfect way to end our meal.

It is pricey, but totally well worth it. It was not just a meal, it was an experience to be remembered!

My sister-in-law went to the winemaker dinner at the Ranch House Restaurant. It was fabulous! The scallops were perfect. Service was top-notch and the wine was superb. I have never been disappointed!
