“Dinner, Bed and Breakfast Getaway”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

We enjoy the delicious dinner and breakfast very much. Meals are excellently prepared, rich, and yummy for a very pleasant evening indulgence. Breakfasts are so tasty, more like a full brunch than most regular morning meals.

The house fermented, bottled, and labeled wine makes for enjoyable tastings and drinking. It is also available for sale!

The inn is a unique facility with a windowed and vaulted common room that is available for special occasions. It is attractively furnished for dining and includes a baby (?) grand player piano! The guest rooms are on three floors. each has a unique theme. Choosing a room is a like an appetizer to "Fantasy Island." Will it be a prairie sunset, the bookish library, the Roman spa complete with massage table? Plenty of themes to tickle your imagination!

This is not your roadside motel, but a delightful destination and special occasion facility. That said, how fun to add a night of luxury to trip between the mountains and the plains!

Room Tip: Go to the website and have fun choosing your favorite theme for the night!

We love staying at the Claremont Inn! The food is amazing and the wine selection is to die for. The hospitality is great and you feel right at home. All the rooms are a one of a kind. We look forward to our next visit that I hope will be very soon!

Room Tip: The Garden Level rooms are a little cold but it is very quiet and you have your own space.

We were very impressed with pretty much everything. The rooms are huge, clean, gorgeous. (We stayed in the Red room.) Dinner was tasty and paired with great wine. Breakfast was awesome. We found the mansion to be completely self-sufficient. We played games, watched a movie in theater room (complete with popcorn), and enjoyed the hot tub. Even exploring the mansion was a treat. Come here with the expectation of enjoying the comforts inside, not to see the town. We would definitely come back again.

An interesting choice if on a long driving trip to/from colorado and the midwest. The inn itself has about 10 large and luxurious rooms. Each is decorated to a different theme. The staff is
very nice and leaves you alone. A huge delicious breakfast is served, with dinner also available. The dinners were well prepared and tasted great - with a bottle of wine and a desert included. There are no choices however. If you have special dietary needs, or are a picky eater, you will not be ordering off a menu. Having food at the inn is almost a necessity, as the town of Stratton has no other choices that I could tell. Not only are there no restaurants, but nothing else to do either. The only business we saw open was a grocery store. Luckily the inn had a large assortment of movies for us to occupy our evening with. They have a theater room where you can watch the video of your choice, but the quality of the projection is very bad. Better watching on the TV setup in your room. Would definately stay here if on a driving trip, but not in my opinion a destination place. With the lack of anything to do in the area.

Room Tip: The Colorado room was huge, bright and had a nice sitting area - but all the rooms were nice looking...

My wife and I loved the Claremont Inn. We stayed in the Library Room which was awesome. It was spotlessly clean. The lady who meet us when we arrived made us feel welcome and let us know about the inn. The movie room is a mini theater and with a huge number of old movies to watch and popcorn to microwave. We slept like babies and woke up to a fresh pot of coffee at our door. And then came breakfast, fresh fruit, juice, scrambled eggs, sausage, and a yummy french toast. We plan to give our daughter a gift certificate for her anniversary.

We had business in the area and decided to treat ourselves by staying in this charming, delightful, relaxing, quiet, fun ... GEM of a B & B. In addition to a delightful room, the entire experience was exceptional from the moment we checked in.

Breakfast was the BEST I have ever had. Honest.
We can highly recommend The Claremont Inn.

This place is wonderful! Needed to stay in the area and couldn't find any hotels that looked okay. Found this place! After a day of travel and seeing clients, it was so refreshing to be able to come here and finally sleep. The management does not put up with late night non-sense and it is a quiet place to work and sleep. The bathrooms are very clean and large. The rooms are large as well. However, the room I was in, Waverly, didn't offer much of a desk or TV. The desk and TV were small but functional.

I felt very safe here. It was very clean and there isn't any "bad" things to really say. The exercise room is small and the hot tub is outside. The kitchen is very clean, but dinner is kind of "pricey" for a business traveler. Breakfast is very good. Didn't care for the sausage at all. Just personal preference.

The folks there are VERY nice and very professional. this is mostly a "couples" place or a business travelers' place. I believe children would not be comfortable here unless they were older and had very good manners. If you are a party kind of person, don't go there and ruin it for everyone else. Very nice place.
