“A magnificent view of the waterfall and Lake Toba from the top”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 27, 2012

It is a must go and see with your own eyes if you travel to Medan. Ours was a one day trip so it was a bit tight for us. But thanks to our tour guide and driver, Denny from Narasindo Tour, he managed to bring us for a good view of LakeToba, then to Simarjarunjung (a very cold place and a stopover before we proceed to Sipisopiso, the waterfall).

“a strange waterfall”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 24, 2012

It does not seem to come from a mountain, perhaps because I viewed it from high the mountains. The surrounding has been built properly for tourists to walk around, maybe that is why it gave me the feeling that it is not a nature. I would say if you run out of time and don't like car journey, you can skip it

“A waterfall you must see when visiting North Sumatera”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2012

I visited Sipisopiso couple years ago. It was a nice trip because you would see a beautiful waterfall. Plus, you would be able to view Toba Lake. If you use public transportation from Medan, you have to go to the Padang Bulan Terminal and take mini bus to Berastagi then get off in Kabanjahe. From here, you can take a mini van to Merek and then changing another mini van to Sipisopiso. Along the way to sipisopiso, you would see a beautiful view so you will not be bored while in the bus.

“Amazing Falls”

To getting here is one of the hardest part, because the road is not properly pave and a lot of vehicles on the road. But the spectacular view of this Falls made you forget the tiring journey!

“Worth the pain”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 9, 2012

I know many people just see the waterfall from the distance, take some pics, and leave.
If your stamina is quite good and your apparels are enable you to move freely, better try to climb down the more-than-640-stairs to see the waterfall from below. Climb the rocks so you can see the bottom of the waterfall and feel its water sparks wash your face and creates hundreds of dew drops on your hair. The feeling will be hard to explain in words.
But don't forget, you have to climb back up! So make sure that:
1. Your stamina is good enough.
2. Your shirt and sandals/shoes enable you to move freely.
3. Better to go with friends to escalate the fun!
