We so enjoyed the stay before ski season starts. The staff person was very helpful guiding us to a dining place and helping us be comfortable. The inn is in a more residential area than hotel area so it is naturally more peaceful. Anyone who loves to ski and enjoy Steamboat but would like a "home" feeling and quiet to relax when you return from the runs will love this inn. Rooms are richly furnished, newly done. We absolutely loved it and will return if in the area again.

We travel a lot but have never been met in the parking lot by the general manager and told that since we would be the only guests, the manager would be going home and an emergency number would be posted on the front desk. Spending the night alone in a 4 story hotel is not what I believed I would be getting at $184/night. Next morning, when we commented that we felt strange, the front desk replied, "Hope you didn't watch 'The Shining'. " Not funny. When I asked for a refund in return taking responsibility for the hotel for the night the manager stated, "The property is left unstaffed every night ... Our welcome letter very clearly states that the front desk is not staffed 24 hrs a day and supplies a number for any problems or concerns." Well OK then. Anyone reading this review will now know BEFORE they make their reservation.
Another feature of the Inn at Steamboat, mentioned by at least one other reviewer, is that the deck just out side your sliding glass door connects to all other units on your floor and if you want the least bit of privacy you must keep your curtains closed. This of course is not a problem if you are the only ones in the hotel. Now you know. We'll be more careful in our selection next time.

Thank you for taking the time to review The Inn at Steamboat. I am very sorry that you felt that you were at anytime responsible for the well being of the property. The property has a 24 hour fire monitoring system and all exterior doors are locked every night. We take the safety and security of our guests very seriously and have put in place all precations to maintain a safe and secure environment. It is very common for smaller independent properties not to staff the front desk 24/7.
Thank you,
Todd

We just arrived home after spending 2 nights Sept 17 and 18. This was our fifth stay, we just love this hotel. The rooms are very comfortable, quiet, clean, and modern. I recommend upgrading to a Valley view room. The views are Wonderful, every morning we were entertained by beautiful hot air balloons from the balcony. We also enjoy Watching the sunset from the hot tub after a long day of hiking and shopping. The hotel staff are helpful, friendly, and work very hard to make us feel comfortable. We tried more than once to find Steamboat lake, we phoned Todd and he gave us great directions and we finally found the lake, he also recommended Pearl Lake. We would not even consider staying any place else in Steamboat.

Room Tip: Valley view suite, or room

Spent two nights there Sept. 7 and 8. Room was nothing special, but clean, comfortable and quiet, with a nice view across the valley and a very pleasant shared balcony. Staff were friendly and provided good tips for dining and attractions. The included breakfast was somewhat minimal and, since we were doing some hiking, we opted for a more substantial breakfast in town instead.

Room Tip: Upstairs rooms have views.

Rooms are clean and the staff is very friendly, but ..... Quoted a room rate on the phone, then assessed an additional 8% "resort" fee at check-in. Beds are very soft. Complimentary breakfast is cereal, toast, and yogurt, that's it. Balcony configured so that strangers (from other rooms) can walk right past your bedroom window. No refund if you cancel within 7 days of reservation. This place is nice enough, but for the money, you can probably do better elsewhere in Steamboat.

My friend and I just had a wonderful long weekend here. I have to echo everything others have said about a large comfortable, nicely decorated, clean room and inn. While right "on the mountain", the inn is outside the high rise condos, helping it to stay far more quiet and intimate. But it was really Todd, the new owner, with his eagerness to make guests feel comfortable and really welcome that make us sing our praises for what the other reviewer called "a real gem".

Room Tip: You'll look out over parking lots on either side of the Inn, however ask for one on the valley s...

The new owners are great - I saw them working on the property everyday. My room was spotless and most comfortable, nice sofa, and table and chairs for doing some writings. The lounge area with lots of sitting areas was just perfect for my afternoon reading. The exercise room is very complete for any level one would need. I found breakfast to suit me just fine, with cereals, yogurt, breads, juices, and coffee. This Inn will surely be the only place for me to stay when I return to Steamboat Springs.
