“Superb food!”
Reviewed July 12, 2014

Reservations are a must for this genuine southern food location in downtown Steamboat. The fried chicken is superb and the sides of fried green tomatoes, mashed potatoes, gravy and biscuits were tasty, if a bit expensive when added up. The service was sub par, clearly showing that they need to add staff to handle the traffic. Just adding a dedicated busser would help. If you are from the southern states or have travel experience there, this food is average, but in Steamboat, it is a pleasant surprise.

“Low country in the mountains”
Reviewed July 2, 2014

We ate here two of our three nights in Steamboat. Food is amazing, First night we had the roasted chicken featuring a delicious "whiskey" glaze perfectly prepared. I had a very spirited gumbo. For desert we had the banana pudding which was perfect. Tonight we went with fried green tomatoes, the bowl of chicken (perfect Southern style fried chicken), biscuits, peas and carrots. No room for desert tonight. Contemporary eclectic design is refreshing. Nice beer selection and full bar. Service and attention excellent. Sad we have to leave. I'd love to try the shrimp and grits.

“New Southern and Cajun in the middle of downtown Steamboat”
Reviewed June 25, 2014

This is a brand new restaurant in what used to be the 5th Street Deli space. They offer a variety of comfort foods, including Southern Fried Chicken and Jambalaya, which is what my wife and I had. They also have a pretty nice, casual happy hour at a small bar inside. This is a nice change-up to the Steamboat restaurant scene, and it seems to be getting more crowded by the day. They also own Bistro CV, arguably one of the best two restaurants in town (Cafe Diva is the other amazing restaurant). Moderately priced, unlike the other two, and you won't be disappointed.
