“A Steamboat treasure worth exploring”
Reviewed December 5, 2013

Yampatika offers and endless array of activities for Nature lovers. It provides fun, exploring tours for families, kids and curious visitors. My favorites are the Moonlight snowshoe tours, but also the snowshoe tours to the Uranium Mine or Emerald Mountain. Ski with Naturalist is awesome and also some of the indoors educational agenda items like the Backcountry Film Festival coming in February of 2014.

“Had a great guide!”
Reviewed March 3, 2012

So pleased with Yampatika! My sisters & I were visiting Fish Creek Falls and a nice young lady asked if we would like a free guided tour - well of course we were questioning the "free" and soon realized this is part of what this organization does.

We had a wonderful guided walk up to the Falls and learned so many new things about the plants and wildlife! Our guide was a college aged Steamboat native that did this for her summers.

I know this organization does other tours on the mountain and I have been to their office with the National Forest station and they provide so much useful information for this area.

Yampatika is a wonderful resource for learning more about the Steamboat area!

“Snowshoe With A Naturalist”
Reviewed December 6, 2011

We did two of the snowshoe tours with Yampatika naturalists. The first was at the Legacy Ranch. It was an easy walk in the open fields around the ranch house. The second was on Howelsen Hill and was much more strenuous. You bought a lift ticket up to the starting point. The walk went higher and then came all the way back down to the base of the lift. The guides were very informative about the history of the area and how to read animal tracks in the snow. The tours were easy paced with questions from the participants (about 10 people on each tour). The snowshoes were provided free for the tours with a request for a donation at the end. My wife and I really enjoyed both tours a lot.
