Owner description: Old Town Hot Springs is an historic all-natural hot spring and recreational facility in the heart of downtown Steamboat Springs. It is family friendly and has been the place for recreation and rejuvenation for visitors and locals alike for over 100 years. The swimming and soaking pools served as a gathering and bathing place for the Ute Indians who first settled in the area. Then in the late 1800s, it was a social spot and a bathing place for the early homesteaders. Old Town Hot Springs sits at an elevation of 6,700 feet and offers eight pools, including two 230-foot waterslides, a 3,000 square foot hot activity pool, an aquatic rock climbing wall, the historic Heart Spring pool, eight lap lanes, and massage. We also have a full fitness center with over 45 classes each week, including aqua fitness classes, yoga, spin, Pilates, BodyPump, Zumba, and more. It is a 501(c)3 non-profit, multi-use complex open seven days a week, year-round.

“Really nice hot springs in town with slides and climbing wall!!”
Reviewed March 28, 2013

Every time we are in Steamboat we go to the hot springs after climbing, skiing, or hiking around town or up on the mountain. The slides are great and the climbing wall is so much fun seeing as you fall back into the water if you dont make it. The pools are different temperatures and perfect for everyone. Some of the pools are adult only if you don't like kids. My only fault with the pool is the price. It is a bit expensive given the amount of time you spend there. It was $72 dollars for my four boys, my wife, and me to swim and go down the slides. There is a coupon book that gives you a discount that are available at most hotels and at the hot spings if your looking for a discount. The facilities are well maintained and have a lap pool and nice locker rooms as well. Overpriced but great fun and you forget about the money as soon as your inside.

“Very cool”
Reviewed March 23, 2013 via mobile

We chose Old Town Hot Springs over Strawberry Park for the convenience and also because it seemed better suited for our 7-year-old. We were pleasantly surprised by how much fun we had. It was really cool to swim in the steaming pools in the dead of winter! Our son could have stayed there all night going down the water slides. A nice way to soak sore muscles after skiing or just to relax a little.

“Fun family experience!”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

The Old Town Hot Springs are conveniently located, clean, modern, and staffed with friendly people. The guest locker rooms are clean, and we rented some small lockers for a quarter each. They rent towels for a buck, but we brought our own. They have a swimsuit centrifuge to dry your suit before you go home. They have several hot tubs, some for adults only. We swam laps in the lap pool next to the local swim team, then came back to the cooler common pool for more soaking. We also enjoyed the slides several times. I will definitely go again the next time we are in Steamboat!

“Great place for activities”
Reviewed March 17, 2013

Old town has been an excellent place for my boyfriend and I while in Steamboat Springs. We have utilized the fitness center which is average. The machines are very nice! I have to say the best part is being able to do cardio and watch the weather (very enjoyable when it's snowing.) The number of cardio machines (elipticals) are limited so I have to always be aware of the time before going. Some of the members, I have found, are VERY protective of their machines, so it can be a little stressful always making sure you are not in some one's way or using "their" machine. However, when you've been working out at the same gym for years (as most members have been) it is perfectly understandable to have a routine you don't want disturbed.
The hot springs are fantastic. Chlorine does not mix with us so there is only one pool that we can get in. On busy days, it's better for us to not even try to soak and fight crowds in the heart spring. With children and those not sensitive to chlorine, the hot springs are a great place to hang out. Early in the morning has proven to be the best time to go, and at that time, everything is 5 star! The rates for members are reasonable, considering all that comes with it. It is a little expensive for non-members, but we understand everyone has to make money (even "non-profits") so it's really no big deal.
I have had a massage by Shari (I think was her name) and she was FABULOUS! Definately a 5 star massage therapist who worked out all the kinks and knots. The price was more than reasonable for a 60 minute massage- somewhere around $60 plus a $20 tip for her excellence. I'm looking forward to trying a facial treatment as well.
As one who has experienced almost all Old Town Hot Springs has to offer, I give this place a 4 out of 5. There is always room for improvement but they have done just about everything right.

“Great place to relax after a day of skiing.”
Reviewed March 16, 2013

Sore after a long day of skiing? Sure that hotel hot tub will work, but you are in a town called "Steamboat Springs", so why not take advantage of the natural hot springs? If you are feeling adventurous you can drive up to Strawberry Park, but if you' don't want to drive 20 minutes up into the hills, this is your place. For $16 you can spend as much time as you want in a variety of pools of different sizes, shapes, and temperatures. We spent well over an hour, mostly in the hottest pool, and it reduced the soreness in my calves and quads substantially. If you are in town for more than a day, don't miss out on the springs.
