“Best place to eat in Steamboat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 29, 2008

The food at Winona's is fantastic, especially the cinnamon rolls which are literally soaked in frosting and butter. YUM. They have many other bakery items too that are just as good including an Oreo-coconut-fudge layered bar. What can be better than that??? There regular breakfast items are fantastic too including their omelets and pancakes. I especially liked their Huevos Rancheros. The food seems a little more healthy than most in that they use fresh ingredients, though it is hard to make a cinnamon roll healthy especially when it takes up the entire plate. The food is vegetarian friendly. The only problem we had was they do not like to split checks which can be a hassle if you are traveling with a group. They are very busy and usually have a line of people waiting to be seated so maybe they are too hurried. Also, Winona's is only open for breakfast and lunch unfortunately. They should stay open for dinner too.

“Best breakfast I have ever had.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 21, 2008

I ate there twice while I was in Steamboat and had the cinnamon roll both times. It was easily the best cinnamon roll I have ever had. Don't make the mistake of ordering anything else to go with it because you won't even be able to finish the roll. My husband had their tradional eggs benedict and also the Philly steak eggs benedict. Both looked like something you would see in a food magazine and he said both were excellent. The wait staff is very friendly and the food comes out fast. Don't be discouraged by the small size of the place, it is well worth waiting for a seat.

“Great Lunch!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2007

My family and I had lunch here during our trip to Steamboat in January. The food was excellent. Their white cheddar broccoli soup is great on a cold day. Prices were about average for a lunch in Steamboat and the service was good too. Oh, and they have sweet tea for all of you southerners that may be having withdrawals. Not as good as what we get in Georgia, but it'll hold you over.

“Great Breakfast Spot”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 19, 2007

We stopped to eat breakfast at Winona's before a day on the slopes. It is about a 5 minute drive from Gondola Square, in downtown Steamboat Springs. There were 5 of us, and everything was great - pancakes, yogurt/fruit parfait, omelette, eggs/sausage, and especially the green chili scramlette - something a little out of the usual breakfast fare. We did order one of their famous cinammon rolls for all of us to share. We couldn't finish it, even though there were 2 kids with us! Service was prompt and friendly. Coffee was very good. Five thumbs up!

“Winona's-just okay”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 22, 2006

We ate breakfast at Winona's on a recent trip to Steamboat. We read a lot about what great meals are served here. There were 4 of us and we each ordered something different. The cinnamon rolls are very good, but the breakfast entrees were all pretty greasy. The portions are large, so if you do go, split an entree....especially if you get a cinnamon roll to go with it. We were staying on the slopes, so we didn't really feel like this meal was worth all of the trouble of traveling 'into town'. You can probably find a breakfast that is just as good or better in Ski Time Square.
