“Great information and well presented”
Reviewed April 4, 2014

Half of the museum is the history of skiing in the area and pioneers of the area. That is interesting and they have lots of artifacts. The other half is a replica of a victorian house from the turn of the century. It is really cool to see how a victorian house would have looked. It was a little creepy in the house part because we were the only ones in there. Later we did find out there is supposedly a ghost that haunts it. We didn't see anything but there was a general creepiness in the house section. The volunteer at the front desk was very nice and seemed very passionate about the museum. It's a great stop on a rainy/snowy day especially if you love history.

“Great local history museum”
Reviewed March 2, 2014

This museum is a must-do attraction when in Steamboat Springs. It's a nice reminder that there's more to the area than the people who come to town for a few days to ski. The exhibits are really informative and easy to digest, and you can do the museum in a pretty short amount of time. The volunteers who were working were so nice, and you could tell that they really care about the community and the mission of the museum.

Make sure you go to the Tread of Pioneers Museum, and give them an extra donation on top of the entrance fee - it's worth it to support organizations like this!

“Info on Historic Steamboat Springs”
Reviewed February 17, 2014

Our group visited here to find out more about the history of Steamboat Springs. We enjoyed our self-guided tour of the museum, the Victorian House and the snowflake exhibit. If you need a day to get off the slopes and do something different, you might be interested in a visit here. Easy to find...on the corner of 8th and Oak Streets. (1 block off Lincoln...the main street).

I like this museum. It is very simple and informative if you are interested in U.S. "Western" culture and settlers. Steamboat Springs is a great place.

“Fun look at Old Steamboat at your own pace”
Reviewed January 19, 2014

Amazing to see how the pioneers lived in SNOWY Steamboat before Snow Cats, snowmobiles, central heat!, beautifully manicured slopes AND streets in the snowiest of winters. Great photos and artifacts of that old-time life. Fun hour or couple of hours.
