We stayed in one of the townhomes and really enjoyed all that it had to offer. The unit was well appointed and well thought out. We had a four bedroom 3 1/2 bath with ten people total including small children. The kitchen was stocked with more than enough plates/glassess/silverware, plenty of bowls/pots/pans with full granite counters and bar. The fridge was full size with ice/water in the door, gas stove, dishwasher, double sinks, under counter lighting and even a large electric griddle, coffee maker with separate burr grinder and blender. As the property does not have an on-site restaraunt we did all breakfasts in the unit with no troubles at all. They provided a sponge, dishwashing liquid & dishwasher detergent. There is also washer/dryer in the unit, always helpful with kids.

The streets on the property are heated so there is no snow on them to worry about, this also holds true for the walkays and driveway for the unit itself so no shovelling or sliding. The garage is even heated with its own thermastat, great to thaw the car out or to get all the gear in order. Walking into the unit there is a good size tile area (8x10 ish) with heated floors, a bench to take off/on boots with lots of cubbies for them or hats/gloves/scarfs. In addition to the coat closet & cubbies in the entrance they provide lots of hooks for all the coats etc.. There were two back decks (both small but reasonably sized) and a grill hooked up to the houses natural gas, great view of the mountain and valley from out back too.

All the furniture was very nice for a rental and done in a natural slightly western look & wooden floors thrughout the main floor. Our unit had TV's in the bedrooms that were all flatscreens and about 32" (more than enough) with a slightly larger one in the downstairs den and a big screen in the living room (48"-52" ish) and DVD / surround sound system. Bathrooms were very nice with nicely tiled glassed in showers (with bench/seat) and all granite counters. There were two rooms with private bathrooms and the main 'master' also had a seperate toilet room and two person whirlpool bath. Our unit also had some decorative large candles for use, playing cards (3 sets), dominos and several other games. The cleaning crew was very good and were on an every other day schedule, good for a condo. There was a big trash & recyclng in the garage to take out any kitchen items and the garbage service had the code to make the pickup.

I cannot say enough about the shuttle services that they offer. They run to/from the gondola every 10 minutes during the day and pickup/drop you at your front door, the ride is only a few minutes. They also run you into town, grocery stores or anywhere else on separate shuttles that run every half hour. In the evening the shuttles to town run more frequently and they do pickups in town every 7-10 mins. The drivers are all great with good reccomendations and again, they will drop you just about anywhere you want, while I don't think they are allowed to actually stop/drop on the main street they will pull into parking lots or the closest side street. The two grocery stores are a city mart (?) next to the wal mart and a safeway with all shuttles stopping at the city mart. They are lacking nothing at either.

The property itself is almost caddy corner to the gondola square and only a little over a hundred yards or so from the lodge, there are sidwalks that are reasonably clear of snow. We used the Bins in the one of the rental shops for the whole time, they are $4 a day/night and you can store your boots/helmets/goggles or anything else for the day and/or night, it is the same for overnight ski/board storage. While this is not neccessary it was really nice not carrying anything around the whole time. We were able to run to town for a bite, wearing our ski attire with snow boots then get dropped at the gondola, change into ski/board boots, pickup our skis and go. Also convenient to grab a bite or drink afterwards, much more comfortable being able to where snow boots to walk around.

There is plenty of fast food and do not seem to be lacking any major brands, however, they also have plenty of local establishments as well. We were not able to try everything of course but did not run across anything we did not like. There are also lot's of watering holes in town so no concerns of getting bored. We did see a dominos pizza but were told of another local delivery with good pies (soda creek), though with all the options we did not try them out. There are many options for restaraunts around the gondola as well and I believe a few places with live music in the evenings. Between the gondola area and downtown there are plenty of stores to cater to any needs, countless ski equipment stores as well as every other type of shop one could desire.

Many of the areas (downtown & ski area) have heated walkays to keep snow/ice off and those that do not are pretty good about keeping them well shovelled/scraped making it easy to stroll around (even with a stroller). They do have a movie theatre downtown and though I did not check for myself I was told that they have tubing on Howslens Hill (sp?), the separate ski area in downtown.

Arriving in Steamboat/Hayden airport be aware that they do not offer traditional taxi services. We found there to be no need for a car once you arrive at the property and there are two shuttle service for the 25 min ride, Storm Mountain & Go Alpine. The prices are the same (may be govt controlled?) and both seem to offer their own online speciales, we did the discount for online advance roundtrip with Storm Mountain. They are very helpful with the luggage, informative on the drive and offered some candy to us all (snickers/reeses etc). The service is door to door and you need to call them 2 days before departure to get the pickup time. Our pickup was a 30 minute window and they hit it with five minutes to spare. I found the price to be a little high as they charge per person, with several people it really adds up quick, but it is still a lot less (trouble & time) than getting a car/suv and with ski racks & lugging everything around.

The mountain itself is fantastic with plenty for all levels to enjoy. They have green runs starting at the very top of the mountain. Hope this helps.....Enjoy.

Great to hear your big group enjoyed the Townhome and I am glad it was stocked with everything you needed. Thank you for complimenting the shuttle drivers. I will pass on your praise, they will enjoy it! Andy Weynand, General Manager.

Stayed in one of the Eagle Ridge townhomes (4 bed, 3.5 bath) for a recent ski trip with friends. We've been coming to Steamboat for Superbowl weekend for 5 years and this was, hands down, the nicest of any place we've stayed. Each of the rooms was nicely furnished with comfortable beds. It would've been pretty tight with 10 adults, but with 8 it was very comfortable.

We generally cook our breakfast and dinner to keep costs down and the kitchen was well stocked for the variety of meals that we prepared. Nice gas cook top, full sized fridge and a reasonable set of cooking utensils, pots and pans.

The van service to the gondola base area came directly to our unit about every 15 minutes, so getting to the ski area was a breeze. The drivers were always very friendly and drove safely (not always the case up there). Since the vans run so often, getting a seat was never a problem as it has been for us at other properties.

The front desk and cleaning staff were also top notch: very friendly and accommodating.

Probably the only drawback was a single, relatively small hot tub/spa for the complex. Our group always found enough room to get in, but it wasn't as nice as some other properties we've stayed at in the area.

All in all, a terrific place to stay for a ski trip. We'll be back!

My wife and kids (2 boys, now 17 and 11) have been coming to the Steamboat and staying at the Eagle Ridge Lodge for a week each year since it opened nearly over 10 years ago. We have consistently had a wonderful experience. This is a very luxurious, comfortable and convenient resort. It is not ski in/out but is very close to the Gondola Base and the lodge has free shuttle service that runs all day. The lodge has beautiful views of the mountain, ample parking and is within walking distance of the wonderful Market On The Mountain -- a wonderfully charming local grocery, liquor store deli with the BEST soups and sandwiches on the mountain.

The staff at the Eagle Ridge Lodge are tremendous and always treat us like we own the unit. The furnishings and amenities are top notch and very posh. My kids love the endless hot cocoa and donuts served every day. I love the fitness center, heated pool and hot tub!

The bottom line is that this is the only place we will stay in Steamboat. I have stayed at many other resorts and condos in Steamboat since my first visit in 1985 (dating myself) but the Eagle Ridge Lodge is by far my favorite. You can't go wrong here.

I received a discount offer for two bedroom, two bath condo for $169 per night and at half off the regular rate, I had to check it out. The resort was terrific. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. They have their own free shuttle service to the base area and town (the base area is an easy 5 minute walk in lieu of the shuttle) in addition to the town's free shuttle service. We were very glad we cancelled our rental car because there is no need for one in this town. The resort is broken into the lodge and also adjacent townhomes.

The full kitchen was well equiped and we cooked several meals.
Note to Management: The knives are almost unusably dull and a glass cutting board is the fastest way known to ruin otherwise nice cutlery and/or loose a finger. Plastic cutting boards, please!

Most ski resort condos that I have stayed in tend to be beat-up because of the harsh environment, ski boots, eqipment, etc. This property is extremely well maintained.

Deep whirlpool tub in the master bath. Stand up shower in the other bathroom. Comfortable beds, gas fireplace. There is no food service on site, but there is a grocery store within a short walk (prices made NYC look like a bargain, but fine for necessities).
Coffee and donuts available in the lobby in the morning.

Pool area was nice, if a little small. Very few rooms in use while we were there and I could see where it could get crowded waiting for the hot tub during busy weeks. Saw some complaints that housekeeping only tends to the room every other day, but that was not a problem for us. Had a chance to see a couple of rooms on the pool side of the complex and their layout seemed slightly larger.

I hate to make picky comments on this resort because we had a great trip and would definitely stay at Eagle Ridge in the future.

We had a 2 bedroom condo while we stayed there. We loved it!! The resort is close to the slopes. There is a free shuttle to the gondola, downtown, and to Ski Time Square. No need for a car once you are there. The room was very comfortable although our room was a bit hot at times for some reason even with the heat turned all the way down but other than that we loved it! Definitely will stay there again.

We've previously been to Whistler a lot, and with the Olympics last year thought we'd tried Colorado. Since our children are quite young, many US friends recommended Steamboat as being very family friendly.
Didn't really know much about properties around the resort but Eagle Ridge Lodge looked close on the map and reading previous reviews on Trip Advisor it all sounded great so we booked up. We were there for a week and all really enjoyed it, so much so that we're going back again this year.
The location is perfect, you're within 5-10 mins flat walking distance of the mountain base (even with our 4 and 6 year old girls in ski boots), but we hardly walked as the shuttle buses are so frequent, and the drivers are really accommodating and great with kids too.
The Condo itself was great (ours was 107), very spacious and with everything you'd need in the kitchen, but more importantly it was tastefully furnished and the owners had also left a few discreet family photos around so it felt really homely. There were TVs in each room, video and DVD players, books and and iPod dock along with a huge wood effect gas fire, so the kids we were all able to relax at the end of the day.
There's also a decent-sized outdoor pool which we went to every afternoon, along with a large hot tub, both with great views over the town homes up the mountain. There are cookies, hot drinks and doughnuts in the lobby at various times of the day, and there are shuttles to and from the town centre where the larger shops are to be found (although there are smaller ones that sell most of what you need near to the lodge).
Room and facilities aside, the other thing that really makes Eagle Ridge Lodge stand out was the staff. The manager was always around and keen to check all was going well, the conciege was knowledgeable and helpful (including when we called for directions during heavy snow on the drive up from Denver), the shuttle bus drivers were great with the kids, and everyone was just really committed to making sure the guests enjoyed themselves and had a great time.
All in all, a great place to stay and would heartily recommend it.

We stayed at the lodge over the holidays and had 2 condos and nine children in tow. The condos were very comfortable, well equipped and any thing we needed was addressed immediately by the staff. The kids really liked the donuts in the morning and the cookies in the afternoon, along with hot chocolate and always some coffee. The dip in the pool was a fun experience with temperatures around 15 degrees. Bath robes for adults and kids were provided. Buses to the hill were always there as well as it being just a short walk to get there. This was better than we expected and everyone wants to return again. We stayed in the 4Br/4Ba unit and the 3Br/2Ba.
