Torian Plum Condominiums
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed July 27, 2011

My friend and his parents took my dad and I here into a 3 bedroom condo. We have been going to different ski resorts for the past 3 years and have always stayed in a condo. This was the best one we stayed at by far. Torian Plum offered so many great amenities from pools and hot tubs, a fitness center, great rooms with modern decor and modern appliances, beds, and furniture. There are far too many great things to say about this place to remember. The best feature though was the free shuttle service they offered. We have never seen this in any of our other hotels before and enjoyed riding in a shuttle and not walking in the cold. Right accross the street is an amzing restraunt called the Tug Boat. The staff was incredible nice and had conversations with us. The location is amazing because after a fun day of skiing you only need to walk 2 minutes to get to your hotel and change into clothes. My tiny problem though is at night you can kind of hear people in the streets and it can become disturbing. This is a great place to stay. You don' t seem to find places like this anymore. Trust me it will be your best condo experience ever.

ndsmc80,

Thank you for such a glowing review! Wow. I can't express our gratitude enough for taking the time to write such a great review. I am glad you enjoyed the accommodations, and the Tugboat. I hope you also got to try Slopeside (Steamboat's best Apres Ski Spot, IMHO, and great late night happy hour - cheap wood fired pizzas and beer), aswell as the delectable Cafe Diva, Saketumi and the new Paramount for lunch and breakfast. And that's just the restaurants around the Torian! We haven't even talked about downtown yet!

Thanks also for your comments about the noise. For fellow travelers, because Torian is in such a great location at the ski area, surrounded by great restaurants, it can be a little noisy. If you are sensitive to noise, please contact ResortQuest to let us help you pick a condo at Torian that is a little quieter.

Our appartment had a wonderful North American Decor, it was everything we wished for and more. We were in Steamboat for the skiing and really wanted a place just like the brochure pictures and we found it at the Torium Plum. The location was great, the restaurant across the road called The Tug was amazing and it was ski in and out. There is a ski hire place downstairs and you can leave your skis there over night. There is a bus stop across the road with buses going past the supermarket and in to town. Great for anyone. Free hot drinks in the lobby, great when you arrive and after skiing.

MaisieNewZealand,

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this delightful review! We are so glad you enjoyed the Torian Plum. I wanted to tell our fellow travelers that in addition to the bus stop across the road, ResortQuest provides our guests with an on-call, door-to-door shuttle in the winter, to take you wherever you want to go, 7am-11pm. It's rare that our guests ever use the city bus - unless they want to, or come home late from the bars (as it runs until 2am).

Also, thanks for noting that the condos are separate. Brochures can only show so many photos, so we recommend visiting our website where we have photos, video and detailed descriptions of every condominium - and our guests can request the exact unit they want (based on availability).

We hope to see you back in Steamboat next winter!

Regards, Katy Martin

After reading many reviews, we selected the Torian Plum for our family ski trip. We were so glad we did! Our 2 bedroom condo was beautiful! We loved the convenience of ski in/ski out. It was a breeze to get the kids to ski school in the morning. The proximity to the Slopeside Grill, Cafe Diva and ski rentals was perfect. We used the convenient shuttle to go into town several times--easy! We will be back!

travelmamaofboys,

We are so pleased that you loved the Torian Plum, that you enjoyed the location and that you appreciated our winter shuttle service. We take pride in delivering the best service and love hearing back from happy guests! I'm glad you tried Cafe Diva in the Torian Plum too - it is a very special restaurant with fabulous food and excellent service. Paul, Beth and his team run a fabulous restaurant!

We hope to see you back in Steamboat soon!

We had a wonderful stay, the owners of the property thought of everything. I would recommend this property to all whom visit. The all the staff were friendly and very helpful. There is a fantastic restaurant down stairs called Diva in my option the best restaurant in Steamboat.
It’s close to the ski lifts. I have 3 negative comments.
If the snow making machines are on, being so close to the ski fields it can be noisy at night.
The inside spa’s inside the complex are pokey and uninviting. I did not try the outside spa’s they were a little to far to dash to in the cold and again uninviting.
The 2 bedroom unit we stayed in had an old style big chunky TV.

Warren 88,

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments. I have a sneaking suspicion that you meant to rate our property more than 1 star, according to the positive comments in the rest of your review. Hopefully you can fix this.

Either way, thanks for your feedback for our fellow travelers. It's unfortunate that you didn't make it to the outdoor hot tubs as there are 4 large hot tubs by the pool, and they have gorgeous views of the ski area. I imagine you stayed in the Torian Plaza building, in which the interior hot tubs are located. The Creekside building is closer to the pool and outdoor hot tubs. You can access these from the Plaza building without going outside, if you prefer.

As for the TVs, we are working with our homeowners this summer to have all TVs updated to Flat Screen TVs, (if they haven't already). If this, or similar details are of particular importance, you can view pictures of each condominium online and request the exact one you want (based on availability), or certainly call and speak with our vacation planners who are located in Steamboat and know the rooms intimately. They can make sure your reservation has detailed notes about any special requests and amenity needs.

Cheers, Katy Martin

We stayed in a 3 bedroom condo. It had all the comforts of home, 2 large flatscreen tv's, upgraded kitchen with all stainless appliances. The best part of the stay is the location. This condo was right on the ski mountain. We could ski to the back door!! The views were amazing, our balcony was over the pool, hot tubs and we could sit and watch all the skiers. This was the nicest place we have ever stayed in!!!

vpempire,

Wow! What a great response! Thank you!! We are so please you had a great stay and loved the Torian Plum. In case other travelers are interested, I believe you stayed in the Creekside building, which overlooks the pool and hot tubs. All of the condos have great views, but some of the Creekside condos also overlook the pool, and to the base of the ski area.

Thanks again, and we hope to welcome you back to ResortQuest and the Torian Plum soon.

My husband and I stayed the week with our 4 children, ages 19,14,13, and 7. The 3 bedroom,3bathroom condo was spacious. It was nicely furnished. Daily housekeeping, which cost extra, was well worth it. They kept our place very clean. The entire staff is very pleasant and courteous. Everyone seems to love their job and all are so helpful, especially the front desk staff, Tony, in particular. The ski lockers on the first floor are very convenient. The shuttle service to town is also very convenient.
