We booked a 2 hour private tour at the recommendation of our hotel and had a blast as Matt guided us through groomed trails, meadows, and single tracks. If you’re looking for a non-skiing adventure or just limited on time, these guys are highly recommended.

Transportation: Free pickup/drop off from your hotel so make sure you take it; don't attempt to drive there unless you're a local, have a beefy 4WD and willing to take the risk of getting stuck. If it's your first time, chances are you'll miss the turn-off, you're almost guaranteed to miss your turn and get stuck on your way out after it's snowed.

Tour: We booked the 2 hr tour in the AM since we only had a few hours to spare before our flight. They groom the trails every day so if you want fresh tracks, I recommend taking the first tour in the morning. It’s a bit colder but the fresh tracks and less people are so worth it especially after a few inches of snow. We spent most of our time meandering through forest roads and single tracks. The views were amazing and make sure to ask your guide to make a stop at the continental divide. The 2 meadows that we stopped at added the adrenaline rush I needed since I was able to speed up and race around in a huge meadow without trees.

Service: Matt was fun, knowledgeable, and professional. He catered the ride according to what we wanted to see and the various levels of our group’s riding ability. Two of us veered off path and got our snowmobiles stuck but he was able to quickly bring it back on the trail in no time. Everyone we dealt with from booking to the shuttle ride back provided us with great service.

I took the 4 hour lunch snowmobile tour and had an awesome time! Booked another one and took my husband and two boys. It was completely different and even more amazing! Our guide Matt took us to a special spot on the mountain and made a campfire while we had lunch! Matt ROCKS! But all the people with Steamboat Springs Snowmobile Tours are awesome! Shaggy picked us up at our condo and had great conversation to the mountain! Alissa, thanks for the warm cookies! And all the others were super friendly and very helpful! Thanks Steamboat Springs Snowmobile Tours for giving us a great day of riding and scenery!! See you again next time we are in town!

Our group of 9 had a unbelievable time w/ the folks from Steamboat Snowmobile Tours. The entire experience was very easy....from the initial booking, pick-up and drop-off, and especially the tour itself. Our guide was great, and he made all our "first-timers" very comfortable. The trails were a blast, and the free time in the meadow was amazing. There was never any sense of nervousness with our kids, considering we were operating snowmobiles in 3 feet of powder. An overall great time, and well worth breaking up 4 days of skiing to try something different. Can't wait to go back.

the trails thru the woods are great but you lose a great deal of the view of the skyline while riding . its a nice place to go but the views at saddleback are better .
