Just returned from 3 days of skiing at Steamboat. For early season skiing, the conditions were excellent. They had a wide variety of terrain open and to cap it off, we had about 8 to 12 inches of powder on our last day. We also managed to take a lesson and our instructor, Corinne, was very knowledgeable and provided us with a few pointers.
Steamboat is a cowboy town with a ski hill. The people are friendly and go out of their way to ensure that you are having a good time. We spent most of our time in the village and didn't manage to go downtown, but if you do there is a shuttle to take you there.
There are a variety of restaurants and bars in the village. We spent our après ski at the "Gondola Pub and Grill" at the base of the hill. It's a great place to rehash your days skiing.
This was my 4th visit to Steamboat and it is definitely one of my favourite places to ski! Would I come back, in a heart beat!
