Walking through these gardens, you can tell how beautiful things would be in the spring and summer. There were still flowers, but many had died (it snowed the day after we were there).

Yes... the weather in September can be hit or miss. We hope you're able to make it back some day in the springtime. It's gorgeous.

Small botanical park that is very nicely kept. It's accessible from U.S. 40, but you can also come in through a gate off the Core Bike Trail.

...and we have bike racks by the trail entrance. This is a great place to rest for awhile if you're riding the bike path.

Full of colour and a surprise round every corner. Throughout the summer there are free concerts on Thursday lunchtimes. All done by volunteers who are only too pleased to tell you the history of the park. If you are in Steamboat then this park is a must visit.

The free concerts go all summer long. There's nothing more peaceful than enjoying a sack lunch in the park with the soothing sounds of music in the background.

My wife and I never miss a botanical garden anywhere in our travels. We got rained out of our visit here on September 27th. So, even though we were leaving on the 28th, we first went to the Botanic Park. It's exactly our cup of tea--just beautiful! I especially liked that the plants were much more extensively marked than in most gardens. I like connecting the name with the plant. We saw many people working on various parts of the garden, even though the snows are coming very soon. We had several nice benches on which to sit, our favorite being those by the pond and the tiny "waterfall" which keeps it full. There is no charge for entry but donations are appreciated (and well deserved I might add). Steamboat is clearly very proud of their botanic garden with full justification. If you like this sort of thing at all, don't miss it! It's a beautiful little gem.

We visited this park on our recent trip to Steamboat. What a hidden gem. Was a little challenging to find. It's behind a soccer field and you have to park and walk down a road to get to. There were so many flowers, trees and beautiful ponds. There was even a large herb garden. I could sit on one of the benches for hours just admiring all the beauty. I loved how every plant and tree was identified with a label. Got some good ideas for my own garden. Just a lovely place to take a walk and relax. Bring your camera - I took alot of pictures.

Labeling each plant is something we really try to keep up on. We feel it's important for people to know the name of what they are looking at.
