“A great place to stay”

Bob and Sheri were great hosts. They were so helpful and accomodating. The room was very clean and comfortable. The beds were great. I got a good nights sleep every single night. The hot tubs are nice after a long day of fishing or sightseeing. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the South Fork area.

Room Tip: Get a room with a stove, refridgerator, & microwave. You can save money by not eating out all th...

I have never stayed in a place so accomodating. These two folks went above and beyond the call of duty countless times for me and my fellow out of town coworkers.... I lived there for nearly a month.

Cozy rooms, laid back feeling... hot tubs and a barbeque....

I honestly don't know what else to say.

... except we miss you! and thanks for the memories!!!! It really felt like home there.

Room Tip: I happened to stay in a newly refurbished room with kitchenette. The grocery store is close by and i...

Origianlly I booked this lodge for our motorcycle group because nothing else was available. Bob had just re-opened the lodge and was not know yet, The very first phone conversation with Bob convinced me that we were going to enjoy our stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Perfect for 31 weary bikers! The biggest blessing was the welcome and hospitality we received from the owners Bob and Sherry. Bob went out of his way to make sure everyone had exactly what they needed and even called two local restaurants to book us for dinner and breakfast. Bob even took care of a need that we had miss-communicated to him without hesitation. All 31 people in our group agreed it was the best stop on our 1500 mile ride through Colorado! Thanks Bob and Sherry! WE WILL RETURN!

This hotel was great: it was really well priced and the room was wonderful and clean (way nicer than any other motel I've ever stayed at--in fact a lot nicer than most hotels I've ever stayed at). The attention to details here--little chocolates in the room, nice shampoo and conditioner, good decor--was clear and made a big difference. The owners were super friendly and clearly invested in the place. We were traveling between places on our way back to Colorado from California and I'm glad that we happened to choose South Fork to stay the night. Would definitely recommend!

Found this great place on a spur of the moment getaway weekend. Checked several other motels and prices were higher. After stopping at the Wolf Creek Ski Lodge and seeing that they were pet friendly (always a plus with us) we knew this was a great find. Bob and Sherry were so friendly. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The hot tubs were perfect, Hot and clean. Will return again.

Once again, as in early January, my wife and I were planning a week trip to the Summit/ Eagle County area of Colorado, but decided at the last minute to go to Wolf Creek for part of the week. This time our decision was due to the fact that the Summit/ Eagle resorts got 1- 5 inches from the latest storm (mainly Sunday and Monday) – which seemed just enough to put some dust on the crust -- whereas WC got 17 inches, sufficient for a good re-surfacing. We flew in a day too late to really get the full benefit, but we figured the surface should still be skiing pretty well for at least a couple of days.

This trip we stayed in South Fork, instead of Pagosa Springs (these are the only choices if you’re skiing WC), since as we discovered on our January trip South Fork is a closer drive from Denver and the Summit area. Staying at Pagosa Springs as we had in January adds about 40 minutes each way to the drive. South Fork is also at least 10 minutes closer to WC on less curvy roads, plus the drive from South Fork doesn’t require going over the pass, so it might also have an advantage when road conditions are an issue. We stayed in Wolf Creek Ski Lodge, a place that just re-opened under new management last November (after big renovations) and which had gotten very nice reviews online. This turned out to be a great place to stay – very amiable and accommodating owners; clean, comfortable rooms and beds; new hot tubs, a convenient location, and a very attractive rate. We stayed in a room with a kitchenette, which had a full size fridge/ freezer, stove, microwave and sink. It was beautifully decorated in a kind of rustic style with wood trim. It had a nice thin-screen TV and free wifi. The wifi worked fine for email and regular web-surfing, although it wasn't fast enough for Netflix. If you have a VGA cable, you can hook your laptop up to the TV and watch DVDs, which you can rent from the Rainbow Grocery in South Fork. We also looked at one of their regular rooms, just so I could say something about those. They are also very nice, immaculately clean, newly re-decorated, and quite spacious. The one we saw had a mini-fridge and microwave, but not all of them come so equipped. They currently have old-style TVs, but the owners are planning to upgrade these. Also should mention that when staying here, there are 2 very good dining options nearby. (Probably others also, but we ate at these two.) For BBQ, pizza, and burgers, The Shaft is great, and they have a very decent bottle of wine for $11! The Silver Fork is more upscale, with some truly innovative cuisine, big portions (enough to take some home) and equally reasonable prices for what you get.

All, in all, we highly recommend WC Ski Lodge. If you look for them online, be sure not to confuse them with Wolf Creek Ranch Ski Lodge.
