We were lucky and had a nice snowy thanksgiving. The teens can out ski and board me so having the slope right outside the hotel was a bonus. My husband was happy to have someone to play ards with as he doesn't enjoy sking or boarding. The food is really not bad even thanksgiving dinner was ok. I loved going up to the lobby for all the pie you can eat, Everyone around us was happy and friendly. Do you REALLY want to go to the inlaws this Thanksgiving?

Very helpful, polite and friendly staff, especially since they answered the same questions over and over with the Jazzfest that weekend. Nice lawn outside lower level rooms for dogs to visit and a wonderful quiet spot by the creek for watching the birds and enjoying the beauty.

I gave it 3 for the view from the window (sunrise), breakfast, and location.
Substracted 1 for the absence of AC (no joke), and for the age of this place.
It really needs remodeling.
The parking is pretty far too, but it's the same for other hotels there too.

My wife and I travel extensively, and stay at both expensive and inexpensive hotels. We try to be realistic when comparing value.... but this place felt like an outdated dorm room... case in point, instead of installing inexpensive plastic shower stalls, they merely painted over the old, old, old shower tiles with pink/white paint which is pealing. Then, I can only assume to save cost, they turned the water heater to about 10 degres above freezing - I spoke with two other seperate guest, thinking it was perhaps our lcoation in the hotel room, but each of them had no hot water either (well they actually had luke warm water)... The beds themselves felt as if they had not been replaced in 10 years, and neither my wife or I slept well....and if you get hot, they have plastic fans which sound like jet engines on the window sills......On the positive side, the rooms were very clean and the breakfast, while very limited, did provide you with something to eat.

I would never stay here again, but I think this is a fine place for collage kids if they get it dirt cheap.

Room Tip: book a different hotel

We stayed at this property for one night. It was clean, quiet, and our check-in and check-out went smoothly. The rooms are quiet and roomy. The only drawback? Lukewarm water for showering/bathing. The staff was friendly and welcoming.
I would go back for the price (cheap for the quality of this hotel) and suffer through the water situation.

Stayed one night in July 2011. No a/c. Night was okay, but daytime was quite hot.

Room very clean, but bed super hard (like an old mattress). Furniture, hallways, etc. VERY DATED. Bathroom small. Bathtub did not drain. Shower head strong, decent bathroom products. Small fridge in room and coffeemaker. Small porch.

Breakfast included. Limited buffet choices: toast, fruit (the kind you'd get in a fruit cup sitting in juice), dry cereal, and eggs/bacon. The eggs/bacon choice changes each day. Eggs and bacon made on the spot.

Some staff friendly; others not so much. Parking only $5 in the garage or free in lots across the street.

Overall, okay. Price was right at $75/night. Wouldn't pay more for it.

My family's ski group, joined by another close group, have been staying here for over 25 years around the same time each year. The homeyness of the place makes it hard not to come back every year.
The pool and Jacuzzi are relaxing for the sore muscles from a hard day of skiing and snowboarding. The rooms leading out to the pool are great (we got them once), and because they make the ski in ski out access much better.
To make this hotel even more better, its close to the village, and the Skittles (gondolas). The Chalet also has a lot of games such as checkers, chutes and ladders, candy land, etc.
I have no complaints for the mountain chalet, execpt when using the shower, be careul of the sensitive hot and cold water! I can't wait to come back next year!!!
