The ambience of this restaurant / bar is just so Silverton... it takes you entire visit to take in all the wall decorations, etc. I had a quick visit to Silverton and the Handlebars Restaurant was on the schedule - on July 30th - decided to keep it light - ha ha. I had an order of the "yummy" giant onion rings and a beer (on tap you get it served in a cute handled pint mug) and I had a marvelous meal. I highly recommend the onion rings - even for two - it is great. I was a busy place at this time - with the Durango/Silverton Railroad in town... make the time to visit Handlebars.... it is well worth the time. Enjoy!

Though highly recommended locally, our party of six adults found Handlebars to be disappointing. The service was excellent, but the food was mediocre and not inexpensive. The walls were adorned with dead aniimal heads and kitch. You can do better in Silverton.

Silverton is a tourist trap town, so it is no surprise that this place is touristy. But the food was good. I had the French Dip sandwich, and my wife had the sliced steak sandwich. Both were tasty. The atmosphere is fun and gives the feel of an 1800's mining town saloon. The prices were a bit high, but that's what you expect in a tourist town. In particular, the onion rings were overpriced for a very small portion.

The place was packed but the service was quick! There were two of us so we sat at bar. We could see all the plates being taken to tables. All looked good and plenty of it. We both had chicken pot pies (wonderful) and a nice tossed salad (blue cheese dressing is a must) . Fun atmosphere.
