Description: The Pickle Barrel Restaurant is one of the longest continually running restaurants in Silverton, Since 1971! The building is also one of the oldest masonary builings on the western slope of Colorado. We encourage everyone to come check it our and the bar in the back, with its eklectic feel. It may be one of the oldest restaurants here in Silverton, but the menu changes often with summer dinner specials changing weekly with a nice gourmet feel. Make sure to see what we have in the winter. Check next door for Ice Cream, expresso and now soaking in Silverton!

Solid service in an upscale environment for Silverton. Food was very good and place dealt with 50ppl walking in {!!} within 10 minutes very smoothly. One dish overcooked, but with the rush, completely understandable. Place to go in Silverton for dinner.

“Wonderful food, people, atmosphere”
Reviewed January 23, 2014

The restaurant was quite nice and homey. A rustic "old school" feel to it, we sat toward the back, right in front of the fire place, which was wonderful as it was about 16 degrees (F) outside. We had spend an hour or so tramping around the (almost deserted) town so this was an ideal respite for us. Winter is not really the season for the town, although it was beautiful, many things were closed down.

The two staff members that our party of 4 interacted with were VERY FRIENDLY and provided excellent recommendations for our orders and about the town and surrounding area. I had the Kobe burger which was very tasty and cooked perfectly to my request. Other members of our party had a cheesesteak sandwich which got a two thumbs up; a portobello mushroom burger which she thoroughly enjoyed; and a special which was a pastrami wrap and it looked excellent and given that not a scrap was left I will say it was quite good too.

From the main course we moved to dessert. I had a piece of key lime cheesecake which I found excellent with a wonderful texture and a friend ordered a piece of (some type of) chocolate cake. The look of his face when he took the first bite of that cake was one of sheer marvel and amazement, to which he muttered (with his mouth full of cake), "Oh My God, and they heated it too". Needless to say, it was almost embarrassing the ecstasy to which was being displayed and then the response from the rest of our party was everybody at the table wanted a bite. I believe the last person actually licked the plate. Our experience was a wonderful one and it was not just the food, but the overall experience with the staff too, however the food can easily stand on its own as could atmosphere and staff.

“Favorite lunch place in Silverton”
Reviewed January 22, 2014

I've eaten here for many years on visits to Silverton. The food is reliably good and the atmosphere is cozy. I usually order soup and a pastrami sandwich. During a snow day, we got chili and took it to the train crew.

“Friendly people, neat place, good food.”
Reviewed January 4, 2014

My family of 5 ate here on NYE. Our waiter was super friendly and very attentive. I got the Mediterranean pasta and my husband got a rib eye. We both thought our meal was delicious and the portions were large, but we sprung for dessert too. I got the fruit of the forest pie...it was amazing!

“Nice lunch, great staff.”
Reviewed November 12, 2013

A nice place to stop for lunch and a cold beer. A limited menu, but what they serve is good food a reasonable price for it's location. The bar stools in back are a bit hard, but take the time to visit with the employee's or locals who frequent the back bar area. Nice place to escape (hide) while the women are shopping. They have a decent selection of "local" beers.
